Chennai Super Kings (CSK) emerged triumphant by seven wickets when they hosted Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
While Ravindra Jadeja (3/22) and Devon Conway (77 off 57) starred with the ball and bat respectively, MS Dhoni was at his brilliant best behind the stumps. He was involved in two dismissals of Aiden Markram and Mayank Agarwal.
CSK's 'Thala' was all smiles in the post-match presentation after his side climbed to the third spot in the league table courtesy of this massive victory. But he hinted at retirement in the next few years from all forms of cricket as he admitted that he was in his "last phase" of his career.

What did Dhoni say about his retirement?
"Whatever said and done, last phase of my career, important to enjoy it. It feels good to be here. They have given a lot of love and affection. They always stay late to listen to me," he told Harsha Bhogle after the match.
Matheesa Pathirana once again impressed with the ball as he picked up a wicket and conceded just 22 runs in his four overs. Dhoni showered praises on the young Sri Lankan pacer and explained why batsmen are finding it difficult to read him.
"You need time to pick his action (Pathirana). We have seen with Malinga - someone who has an awkward action and who is very consistent with line and length - it's difficult to score off him.
"I was hesitant to bat second. Had the feeling there won't be much dew. Overall the middle overs was the setup. Fast bowlers bowled very well in the last few overs. I always tell them that first preference of field setting is with you," he added.
