22:28- INDIA WIN! Shami finishes things off! The edge from Lockie Ferguson goes through to the keeper, and Shami has seven wickets. India win by 70 runs, and will play in the World Cup final on Sunday. New Zealand 327/10 in 48.5 overs (Boult 2*, Ferguson 6).

The last batter is Lockie Ferguson.

22:25- WICKET! It's a sixth for Shami. The slower yorker, and Southee can only edge it through to KL Rahul. New Zealand 321/9 in 48.2 overs (Boult 2*, Southee 9).

Trent Boult comes to the crease.

22:22- WICKET! Siraj gets in on the act now. The slower bouncer and Santner tries to muscle it away. It just goes straight up and Rohit Sharma takes a simple catch. New Zealand 319/8 in 47.5 overs (Santner 8, Southee 9*).

Tim Southee is the new batter.

22:10- WICKET! And finally, Mitchell's brilliant innings comes to an end. Takes on the full delivery from Shami, but for the third consecutive time Jadeja pouches a catch in the deep. New Zealand 306/7 in 45.2 overs (Santner 4*, Mitchell 134).

In comes Mitchell Santner.

22:02- WICKET! The required run-rate is mounting all the time, and India have another. Chapman gets down on one knee but only sweeps Kuldeep to Jadeja at deep square leg. New Zealand 298/6 in 43.5 overs (Chapman 2, Mitchell 132*).

Mark Chapman is the new batter.

21:55- WICKET! Bumrah bowled four on-pace deliveries in a row, before pulling out that dipping slower one. Phillips is through the shot too early, and Jadeja takes an excellent catch on the boundary. New Zealand 295/5 in 42.5 overs (Phillips 41, Mitchell 131*).

21:37- Into the final ten we go. Now or never for Daryl Mitchell and New Zealand, with the asking rate above 13 runs an over. He needs some support from the other end, but Phillips has just been struggling for timing. New Zealand 266/4 in 40 overs (Phillips 19*, Mitchell 126*).

21:07- Shami's double blow has left New Zealand reeling again, but importantly for them Daryl Mitchell is still out in the middle. The required rate is touching 11 an over, but there's hope if he sticks around and if Phillips can get going. New Zealand 224/4 in 35 overs (Phillips 1*, Mitchell 103*).

In comes Glenn Phillips.

20:56- WICKET! Another one in the over for Shami! Second ball to Tom Latham, who is beaten for pace and trapped LBW. It's plumb as, and he doesn't even review. New Zealand 220/4 in 32.4 overs (Latham 0, Mitchell 100*).

Tom Latham is the new batter.

20:53- WICKET! Shami returns and strikes! He dropped a dolly from Willamson a few overs ago, but this time the New Zealand captain takes the bowler on and hits him straight to deep square leg. New Zealand 220/3 in 32.2 overs (Williamson 69, Mitchell 100*).

20:39- Daryl Mitchell has been exceptional over the last few overs, and he's tackled the Indian attack with ease. It would truly be something if New Zealand even got close, and Mitchell looks like he could do just that. New Zealand 199/2 in 30 overs (Williamson 58*, Mitchell 90*).

20:18- There's been some very good batting on show, with Mitchell taking up the role of the aggressor. The partnership is over 100, and New Zealand are slowly inching back into the game. New Zealand 161/2 in 25 overs (Williamson 49*, Mitchell 61*).

20:00- The current pair have built a nice little partnership. They've been a bit lucky at times, and the ball has also stopped moving for the seamers. They're still well behind the required run rate, but another 10 or so overs of this could start to cause some issues for India. New Zealand 124/2 in 20 overs (Williamson 32*, Mitchell 41*).

19:33- Mitchell and Williamson haven't been given anything to hit, but the pair are desperately trying to break the shackles. The required rate has gone above 9 an over, so they need to get a move on, and fast. New Zealand 87/2 in 15 overs (Williamson 23*, Mitchell 17*).

19:12- There's the end of the Powerplay, and India are well on top. New Zealand still need over 350 more runs to win. A long way to go, but this match is going only one way for now. New Zealand 39/2 in 7.4 overs (Williamson 4*, Mitchell 1*).

In comes Daryl Mitchell.

19:01- WICKET! Another one for Shami! Outside off stump, catches the outside edge of Ravindra's bat and goes through to KL Rahul. It's a good low catch. New Zealand 39/2 in 7.4 overs (Williamson 4*, Ravindra 13).

Kane Williamson comes to the crease.

18:47- WICKET! Rohit Sharma turns to Mohammed Shami, and he answers the call first ball! Induces the edge from Conway, and KL Rahul takes a brilliant diving catch behind the stumps. New Zealand 30/1 in 5.1 overs (Conway 13, Ravindra 8*).

18:45- If New Zealand can get out of the Powerplay without losing a wicket, they will fancy their chances of unsettling India here. They've started well so far, helped by a bit of wayward bowling from Bumrah. New Zealand 30/0 in 5 overs (Conway 13*, Ravindra 8*).

18:21- So, here comes the New Zealand chase. If anything could upstage Kohli today, it would be this score of 397 being chased down. Can they do it? Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra will get them started. Jasprit Bumrah has the ball in hand, with Conway on strike. Short and wide, smashed away for four. New Zealand 4/0 in 0.1 overs (Conway 4*, Ravindra 0*).

17:50- India finish with 397 on the board! Massive effort from the batsmen. Each of the batsman did their job but the showstopper was Virat Kohli as he reached his 50th ODI century in superb fashion in front of his idol Sachin Tendulkar.

17:48- WICKET! Suryakumar Yadav mistimes his shot and gets caught by Glenn Phillips! He goes for just one.

Gill walks out to bat after he went off earlier retired hurt. He looks fine.

India are 382/3.

17:45- WICKET! Iyer goes after scoring 105 from 70 balls. Trent Boult gets his wicket with a slower at 112.5kph. Iyer does not time it and is caught by Daryl Mitchell at long-on.

17:35- CENTURY FOR IYER! What an incredible innings from the Indian middle-order batsman to get to his 100 in just 67 balls.

India are inching towards 400 and are currently 366/2 after 48 overs.

17:20- WICKET! Kohli departs for 117. But he has done the damage. Southee bowls flat and Virat has ploughed that to Devon Conway at deep square leg.

India are 327/2 after 44 overs.

17:10 - HISTORY FOR KOHLI! He scores his 50th ODI century to surpass Sachin Tendulkar's record of 49 ODI centuries.

LIVE ACTION STARTS!

Kane Williamson: We would have batted first. Hopefully, some dew later. Amazing occasion. Four years ago, similar situation but a different location. They have been playing some good cricket. Always a building phase between the tournaments. Need to assess what is in front of you when the tournament starts. We are going with the same team from the previous match.

Rohit Sharma: We are gonna bat first. Looks like a good pitch. Looks like on the slower side. Whatever we do, we need to do well. I think it was back in 2019 when we played the semis. NZ is one of the most consistent sides. Very important day. Constantly, talking about how important it is about turning up on that day. It is about controlling the controllables. Same team.

Line-ups:

New Zealand (Playing XI): Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Kane Williamson(c), Daryl Mitchell, Mark Chapman, Glenn Phillips, Tom Latham(w), Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, Trent Boult

India (Playing XI): Rohit Sharma(c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul(w), Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj

TOSS: India have won the toss and will bat first.

BECKS AT WANKHEDE!

Football legend David Beckham will be in attendance at the Wankhede Stadium today to witness the epic clash between India and New Zealand in the World Cup semis.

A day before the mega semi-final clash, the Indian Express reported that the Rahul Dravid-led Indian team management had requested the pitch curator to shave off the grass from the pitch. This was done to bring the Indian spinners into the game and to neutralise the effect of Kiwi fast bowlers.

To add more fuel to the fire, Daily Mail dropped a bombshell report on Wednesday that explored the pitch saga in a larger extent. It reported that the ICC pitch consultant, Andy Atkinson, is frustrated with the fact that the semi-final between India and New Zealand was initially planned to be played on a fresh surface but will now take place on a used wicket.

Also, it has been revealed that the pitch for the India versus Pakistan match was replaced. The fixture was scheduled to be held on pitch No.7 but ended up being played on pitch No.5.
