Crown 'em.

LSU won session I of the NCAA gymnastics championship semifinals Thursday. It secures the Tigers a spot in the finals and a top-four finish.

Things started off rocky, as the Tigers went 49.3250 in their first rotation. They couldn't stick any vault landings, resulting in one of their lowest vault scores this season, but they picked it up on bars to take a .025 lead over Cal at the halfway point.

From there on out, it was a battle between LSU and the Golden Bears while Arkansas and Stanford finished out their unexpected nationals meet. The Tigers were lights out, scoring meet-highs on beam and floor to win the meet 198.1125. They advanced to Saturday's finals along with Cal.

For those familiar with LSU, it comes as no surprise that Haleigh Bryant won the all-around with a score of 39.7125. She earned a share of the bars and beam titles with scores of 9.9250 and 9.9500. Aleah Finnegan, who's headed to the Olympics this summer to represent the Philippines, won floor with a 9.9625.

LSU's performance was nothing short of extraordinary ahead of its second straight finals appearance. The Tigers now await the result of session II between Oklahoma, Utah, Alabama, and Florida to see what two other teams it faces on Saturday.
