Clemson and Florida, two powerhouse college baseball programs, are set to clash with a spot in the College World Series on the line.
The Gators, the runners-up in the 2023 CWS, snuck into the 64-team NCAA Tournament field despite a pedestrian record. But Florida certainly validated the committee's decision, winning the Stillwater regional with consecutive victories over No. 11 seed Oklahoma State.
Ashton Wilson earned regional MVP honors, thanks in large part to a four-hit game against Nebraska and a three-hit performance against the Cowboys. Two-way phenom Jac Caglianone also racked up three doubles, two homers, and five RBIs across the five games.
Now, No. 6 Clemson awaits. The Tigers went 3-0 in their regional, including a 12-5 thumping of Coastal Carolina on Sunday. Shortstop Jacob Hinderleider earned MVP honors; across the last two games, he registered eight hits and 10 total bases.
Clemson is in the super regional for the first time since 2010.
