Ghana winger Frank Acheampong believes he made the right decision to permanently join Chinese side Tianjin Teda from Belgian giants Anderlecht.

Having initially joined the Super League outfit on a six-month loan spell in July, the 24-year-old cut ties with Anderlecht last week, signing a long-term deal with the Tigers.

The move has attracted criticism, due to the fact that he was reportedly on the wish list of some European teams.

“It [Chinese Super League] is a good League," Acheampong told Kasapa FM.

"You can’t compare it to England and other European leagues but is gradually gaining attention.

“Many players are joining the league, which is a good one and I am happy to also be there.

“I have played in Asia before and so I have an idea of the system and how they play there, so I think is a good move for me.”

After leaving Ghana, Acheampong played for Buriram United in Thailand before joining Anderlecht in 2013.

He made 165 appearances for the Purple and White, scoring 22 times and contributing 21 assists.

He was instrumental as the side lifted the Belgian topflight in 2013, 2014 and 2017.
