Once again, Albert Adomah was the hero of the day as Aston Villa beat Ipswich Town 2-0 in the English Championship on Saturday.

The Ghanaian registered a brace - his 10th goal in 12 league starts this season - as the Claret and Blue Army claimed all three points at Villa Park.

In his 15th Championship game of the campaign, Adomah broke the deadlock nine minutes to half-time to put Steve Bruce's outfit in the driving seat.

The 29-year-old took advantage of defensive lapse between Dominic Iorfa and Grant Ward to slot in the opener.

He would soon make it 2-0 in the 66th minute, with Iorfa once again in the mix.

The Englishman's failed block put Adomah through on goal and the former Middlesbrough winger made no mistake with his finish.

Fourth on the table, Villa have now made it three wins in a row ahead of Friday's visit to Leeds United.

Adomah, who has also had stints with lower sides Harrow Borough, Barnet and Bristol City, joined Villa from Middlesbrough in summer last year.

He made 38 appearances involving 30 starts and three goals as the Claret and Blue Army finished 13th last campaign.
