Pep Guardiola is to join a small number of prestigious managers to have taken charge of 100 Champions League matches this evening, as Manchester City face Shakhtar Donetsk.

The 46-year-old has led his City side to five consecutive victories in the current campaign, topping Group F going into the final outing before the knockout rounds of the competition.

But which other managers have hit the milestone, and how does Guardiola rank amongst them?

GUARDIOLA'S CHAMPIONS LEAGUE RECORD

Guardiola's greatest success in the competition came with Barcelona as he guided the Catalan club to two Champions League trophies in 2008-09 and 2010-11.

Almost half of his European games in management were whilst in charge of Barca, with 30 of those ending in victories, though he would go on to better his win percentage at Bayern Munich.

Guardiola led Bayern to 23 wins from 36 Champions League games, ending his time in charge of the German giants with a 64% win record.

Remarkably, Guardiola's teams have conceded fewer than a goal a game across his time in the competition while scoring 235.

GUARDIOLA'S CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINISHES

Guardiola has not progressed past the semi-final stage of the competition since the 2011 Wembley final in which his Barca side beat Manchester United 3-1.

The City boss was tasked with claiming European success whilst in charge of Bayern but was unable to do so, while his City side were knocked out by Monaco in the round of 16 last season.

Guardiola is set to join an exclusive list of Champions League managers, which Sir Alex Ferguson tops with 190 games.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and Carlo Ancelotti follow on, with the latter still one of only two managers to have lifted a Champions League or European Cup on three occasions - the other being former Liverpool coach Bob Paisley.

Jose Mourinho and Mircea Lucescu make up the top five of centurions, with Guardiola ready to join them on Wednesday.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WIN RATE (MIN 50 GAMES)

Despite not winning as many trophies as Ancelotti, and not reaching a final in the previous six campaigns, Guardiola tops the bill in the win percentage rankings from those who have been in charge of at least 50 Champions League games.

The City boss has won almost 62% of his fixtures, with only Louis van Gaal running him close.

Vicente del Bosque, Rafa Benitez, Mourinho and Ancelotti - all of whom enjoyed spells in charge of Real Madrid - come next, with Diego Simeone and Ferguson the only other two managers to win over half of their games.

Josep Guardiola 61.6
Louis van Gaal 60

Rafael Benitez 55.8
Jose Mourinho 55.1
Carlo Ancelotti 54.9
Diego Simeone 54.7
