World Boxing Super Series Season 2: Info, results, dates for upcoming fights image

The inaugural World Boxing Super Series was an absolute knockout, with fans getting a chance to see Oleksandr Usyk become cruiserweight king and Callum Smith reign atop of the super middleweights

Season 2 of the WBSS has been just as exciting so far, as we have already witnessed the electric Naoya Inoue knock out Juan Carlos Payano in Yokohoma, Japan in bantamweight action and cruiserweight Yunier Dorticos blast Mateusz Masternak in Orlando. In the super lightweight tournament, No. 1 seed Regis Prograis dominated Terry Flanagan by unanimous decision to advance to the semifinals.

Last Saturday, a No. 1 seed lost, when Ryan Burnett was defeated by Nonito Donaire in the bantamweight tournament quarterfinals.

  • Super Lightweight - Ivan Baranchyk (Belarus) def. Anthony Yigit (Sweden) by doctor's stoppage after the seventh round to win the vacant IBF world super lightweight title.

  • Bantamweight - Nonito Donaire (Philippines) def. Ryan Burnett (Northern Ireland) via fourth-round TKO for WBA ‘unified’ and WBC diamond bantamweight titles.
