Just confirmed, Oleksandr Usyk, the current undefeated and undisputed cruiserweight champion of the world, will face Tony Bellew at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England on Nov. 10. Before Usyk (15-0, 11 KOs) enters that clash, we recap the last five bouts of his career.

 

Oleksandr Usyk vs. Murat Gassiev

Date: July 21, 2018

Location: Olimpiyskiy, Moscow, Russia

Result: Usyk won via unanimous decision

In the final of the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) Cruiserweight division. Usyk controlled the fight from the opening bell, using his jab to break up any momentum Gassiev tried to build. Usyk’s movement and hand speed caused Gassiev all sorts of trouble throughout this contest giving Usyk an impressive 120-108, 119-109, 119-109 unanimous points decision victory to claim the Muhammad Ali Trophy as well as the IBF, WBA Super belts to add to his WBC and WBO World Cruiserweight titles.

Oleksandr Usyk vs. Mairis Briedis

Location: Arena Riga, Latvia

Result: Usyk won via majority decision

In a terrific semifinal World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) cruiserweight division fight, both men were evenly matched on paper and fought their hearts out in the ring, with Briedis taking the undefeated Ukrainian the distance. At the end, the scorecards read 114-114, 115-113, 115-113 to give Usyk the victory and the WBC title to add to his WBO cruiserweight crown.

Date: Sept.9, 2017

Location: Max Schmeling Halle, Berlin, Germany

Result: Usyk won via a 10th-round TKO

The opening round of the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) cruiserweight division saw Usyk defending his WBO cruiserweight title against Germany’s Marco Huck. Usyk showed his superior fighting skill from the opening bell and controlled the fight well up until the 10th-round, where Usyk landed a barrage of blows before the referee called the fight in his favor.

 

 

Oleksandr Usyk vs. Michael Hunter

 

Date: Apr. 8, 2017

Location: MGM National Harbour, Maryland, USA

Result: Usyk won via unanimous decision

The battle of the two former Olympians was a one-sided contest. Usyk went the distance against Michael Hunter to retain his WBO cruiserweight title, landing 321 of 905 punches thrown compared to Hunter’s 190 of 794. That paved the way for Usyk to win 117-110 on all three of the judges’ scorecards. In the 12th round, Hunter was hurt following a flurry of power shots and was given a standing-8 count.

 

 

Oleksandr Usyk vs. Thabiso Mchunu

 

Date: Dec. 17, 2016

Location: Forum, Inglewood, California, USA

Result: Usyk won via a ninth-round KO

Usyk dominated South African Mchunu, dropping his fellow southpaw three times before ending the fight with a ninth-round knockout. During the fifth round, Usyk started to control the fight by landing clean combinations. In the sixth round, Usyk landed some power shots and a left uppercut that buckled Mchunu. Usyk continued his assault, scoring two knockdowns in the ninth round, before the referee called the fight over.
