In their initial clash in January, Chris Eubank Jr. was the betting favorite, ready to take down Liam Smith in front of over 20,000+ in Manchester. However, the veteran in Smith got the last laugh, dropping Eubank in what ultimately resulted in his first loss via knockout. Eubank is out for revenge and will look to get it.

Smith and Eubank clash inside Manchester Arena, the scene of their first fight. The bout will air on Sky Sports Box Office in the U.K., presented by BOXXER. The fight was meant for June 17, but a Smith injury delayed the bout, per Mike Coppinger. July 1 is the new date.

Born in Liverpool, Smith turned pro in 2008 and is a former Commonwealth and British super welterweight champion. The 34-year-old beat Apollo Thompson for the WBO super welterweight title in 2015. Losing the belt against Canelo Alvarez in 2016, “Beefy” rebounded by winning interim WBO gold, but lost in a legit world title bout against Jamie Munguia in 2018. He is 7-1 in his last eight and is on a four-fight win streak.

Facing Eubank, Smith knocked him down in the fourth by the corner. With wobbly legs, Eubank never recovered, and Smith landed more vicious blows until the referee waved the bout.

“I know he tried his best to go a different route, but the fight is on now, and I am looking forward to hearing what he has to say for himself in the build up,” Smith said. “Let's see what angle he comes with this time. He can't come with angles about how he's never been hurt, he's never been dropped, he's never been stopped, because he just had all three of those things happen to him in one night, and it was me who did it to him. So I'm interested to see what he comes with this time, and I'm also interested to see where he goes after I beat him again on June 17.”

The son of former world champion Chris Eubank, "Next Gen" turned pro in 2011 and is a former interim WBA middleweight champion. After losing to George Groves in 2018 for the WBA super middleweight title, Eubank won six in a row. he was supposed to fight Conor Benn, but the latter failed several drug tests, and Eubank went on to face Smith.

“Liam had the night of his life against me in January, the stars aligned for him in Manchester, and he went away with a big win,” said Eubank. "But lightning doesn't strike twice. If he even has the slightest thought that he can beat me again, then great, because it will be his undoing.”

The co-main event will see Franchon Crews-Dezern defend her status as undisputed super middleweight champion against Savannah Marshall. Crews-Dezern, a WBC and WBO champion, last fought in April 2022, beating Elin Cederroos to win the IBF and WBA super middleweight titles. Marshall is a former WBO middleweight champion. She last fought in October, losing to rival Claressa Shields for the chance to be undisputed at middleweight. Now, Marshall will get a chance to become undisputed in another division.
