Dublin, Ireland will be the place to be when Katie Taylor fights at home for the first time as a professional on May 20. The undisputed lightweight champion faces Chantelle Cameron for her status as undisputed super lightweight champion. The 3Arena will host the event, which airs live on DAZN.

A change in weight can make a dramatic difference in a fighter’s physique and ability. A mainstay at lightweight, Taylor is not concerned about the challenge ahead. She has fought in the division before, defeating Christina Linardatou in 2019 for the WBO title.

“I feel very, very comfortable at this weight and very strong as well,” Taylor said via The 42. “I don’t think there’s much of a difference between the lightweight division and the light welterweight division. She’s (Cameron) probably a bit bigger than me, but not too much. I wouldn’t say I fear anything about her, but I’m obviously aware of the challenge ahead of me.

"She has a big engine, and I’m prepared for that. She’s big and strong, I’m prepared for that as well. But I also have a big engine, I’m also strong. I’m going in there ready for anything that comes my way on fight night.”

Cameron has also fought at lightweight. She started her career in the division, winning bronze in the EU championships in 2011. "Il Capo" has dominated the competition since sticking with super lightweight, beating the likes of Melissa Hernandez, Mary McGee, Victoria Bustos, and Jessica McCaskill.

Taylor has home advantage but Cameron doesn’t mind. She is willing to put her belts on the line to be a part of what should be an emotional homecoming for Taylor.

"My whole career has been around fighting Katie and getting the opportunity, so I'll jump at the chance,” Cameron said via The Irish Post. “What she's done for women's boxing, the right thing for her to do is fight in Dublin. I don't know why it has taken this long because she's been boxing all over but never actually in Ireland. She deserves that homecoming, and if it means putting all my belts up, then so be it. I believe in myself enough to get in there and put everything on the line.”
