Jessica McCaskill moves from one challenge to another as the WBA and Ring welterweight champion defends her belts against Lauren Price on May 11. 

McCaskill (12-3-1) faces a mandatory challenger for the first time since fighting Sandy Ryan to a controversial draw. That was to determine the unified welterweight champion. The 39-year-old was previously the undisputed champion at 147 and held super lightweight gold in the past. 

On a 1-1-1 run in her last three fights, “CasKILLA” looks to hold onto her two belts and eventually return to undisputed status.

The fight is in Price’s (6-0) backyard in Cardiff. While the -275 betting favorite per Bet MGM. McCaskill is not an easy challenge. The 29-year-old will have all eyes on her in Cardiff International Arena, which holds 5,000 people. Price is ready to show what she can do at the world level.

“I suppose there’s a different element to it because of the size of the fight, but it’s more exciting than anything else because this is what I wanted since I turned pro – with three titles on the line and boxing in front of my fans,” Price told BBC Wales via Boxing Scene.

On the undercard, local fighters look to become top contenders while a member of the Fury family returns to action.

Shepherd (4-0) is a ten-time ABA Welsh champion with one win via knockout. The 26-year-old from Cardiff competes in his fourth home fight since turning pro. 

Ellis (14-8) is on a four-fight losing streak. He has been knocked out in two straight contests, while he has no wins via the power punch. 


Hughie Fury vs. Patrick Korte

Hughie Fury is back in action against Patrick Korte.

Fury (27-3) is the cousin of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. The 2012 Youth World Championships gold medalist lost against Joseph Parker in 2017 for the WBO heavyweight title, his only crack at gold. The 29-year-old is on a four-fight win streak, his last contest being in April, which ended a three-year fight hiatus. 

Korte (21-3-1) competes outside Germany for the second time. The 40-year-old is on a two-fight win streak and is 3-2 in his last five contests.
