The time for fun and games is over. A grudge match years in the making finally takes place today. Jake Paul and Tommy Fury, a YouTuber and a pro boxer, face off for the ultimate bragging rights.

This unorthodox fight will be at Diriyah Arena in Saudi Arabia. It is the third time the bout has been attempted. Fury backed out twice, once due to a broken rib and another due to visa issues.

Paul turned pro in 2020 and is 6-0. Fury will be Paul’s first real boxing opponent, as he has only faced YouTubers, MMA fighters, and former NBA players.

Anderson Silva was Paul’s most experienced opponent, with a 3-1 record prior to the Paul fight. Fury is 8-0 since 2018, competing against all boxers. However, Paul has brushed off the experience of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury’s half-brother.

"I’m faster, better defense, better head movement, better body shots, more power, better footwork, better chin, more heart, more cardio," Paul told BT Sport, via Dexerto.

"He (Fury) hasn’t even been eight rounds. I’ve been eight rounds with two different people who are both world champions. Who are dogs. He’s never fought anybody. The combined record of his opponents is like 25 wins and 200-something losses.

"They’ve all been put in there to lose. It’s going to be a rude awakening for him when he’s in there with someone who has a killer mindset and is willing to die to win the fight."

Fact-checking, the combined record of Fury's opponents before he faced them: 24-176-5. Four opponents were looking for their first win, while one fighter already had 102 losses.

Born within a boxing family, Fury is ready to prove that the caliber of his opponents will not matter during fight night. The underdog, he wants to end the hype train that is Jake Paul once and for all.

"I'm ready to deal with this man. This is a public service announcement going out for everybody: this man won't box again. This will be the last time you see Jake Paul in the ring against a true professional anyway," Fury told Sky Sports.

Tensions between the pair further rose at the weigh-in on Saturday morning, with a calm and composed Paul taking a barrage of verbals from Fury in the midday heat.

Meanwhile, Paul continues to rile the Fury clan via social media, after making an offer of a new all-or-nothing contract at the press conference earlier in the week, which his opponent is yet to sign.
