With impressive social media followings and the talent to match, Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia are considered potential superstars in boxing. Subsequently, their respective value brings increased interest to their upcoming showdown on April 22.

Davis and Garcia compete in a 136-pound catchweight fight at the T-Mobile Arena. The only way to watch in the U.S. is via Showtime and DAZN PPV.

The 28-year-old Davis is a devastating power puncher, resulting in all but two of his 28 wins coming via knockout. Often a brawler, Davis can tire out an opponent and capitalize on any mistake. The WBA (regular) lightweight champion expects to do just that against Garcia.

“Ryan is gonna have to show me that he has more than just a left hook,” Davis said at a media workout. “I’m gonna be on point that night because I’m getting ready for the best Ryan Garcia. I just don’t feel that he’s a complete fighter, and come April 22 I’m gonna show him. I think he’s trying to hype himself to get into the fight when he talks about knocking me out in two rounds. I don’t think he really believes that.”

Garcia has won all but four of his 23 wins via knockout. “KingRy” last fought in July 2022, but that was by design, as he decided to forgo a tuneup before facing Davis. Not believing ring rust will be a factor, the 24-year-old took exception to Davis thinking he’s one-dimensional, and is ready to shock him on fight night.

“I’m just going to let him think what he thinks,” Garcia said at a press conference. “If he thinks all I have is the left hook, then he’s going to run into other shots and be confused. If he had watched any of my fights, he’d know what else I have.

“He’s going to try to walk me down, but when he feels shots like this, he’s not going to want to do that. I’m going to hit him to the body and take the aggression out of him. I have a lot of ways to stop him.

With a fight of this magnitude, how much are these two expected to make? Here’s a breakdown of Davis and Garcia’s purse history heading into their clash.
