Floyd Mayweather Jr. teased a return to fighting Thursday night.

The boxing great posted a photo of himself in fight gear --- taped hands and trunks --- and a to-the-point message:

Earlier, Mayweather posted a photo of he and UFC president Dana White sitting courside at an NBA game, with this cryptic message:

White reposted Mayweather's IG message on Twitter late Thursday.

Mayweather, 42, has not been in an official fight since defeating MMA star Conor McGregor by TKO in a crossover bout in August 2017. He has been fighting in exhibitions. The victory over McGregor pushed Mayweather's record to 50-0, eclipsing Rocky Marciano's 49-0 mark.

There was chatter earlier this year about Mayweather possibly returning to the ring for a rematch with welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather easily defeated Pacquiao by unanimous decision in May 2015 after years of delays in making the fight. Pacquiao and Mayweather exchanged barbs on social media in July after Pacquiao defeated Keith Thurman for the WBA (Super) belt and then essentially challenged Mayweather.

The IG post with White advances talk that Mayweather wants to get into mixed martial arts. UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov challenged Mayweather to a boxing match in October 2018, and speculation about a fight continued in July.
