Two of the best lightweights in the world will face off when undisputed champ Devin Haney takes on Vasiliy Lomachenko on May 20 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The 12-round bout will air on ESPN+ PPV in the U.S.

Haney has held lightweight gold since 2019, when he beat Zaur Abdullaev for the interim WBC belt (he was later promoted to full champion). Fighting in George Kambosos Jr.’s backyard in Australia in June 2022, Haney outworked him to win the WBA, IBF, WBO, and Ring Magazine belts to become the undisputed champion. A rematch clause forced Haney to fight Kambosos again, where he again outpointed the Aussie to retain his belts.

At 24, “The Dream” is a complete fighter. He is now ready to kick it up a notch against Lomachenko, the former lightweight king.

“He made me wait four years to fight him since I was 20 years old, so I don’t like Loma,” Devin Haney said on Top Rank’s Blood, Sweat & Tears via Boxing News 24. “I want to beat him bad. I want to send him into retirement.

Lomachenko beat Jorge Linares in 2018 for the WBA and Ring lightweight belts. After defeating Jose Pedraza for the WBO title, and Luke Campbell for the WBC title, the Ukrainian surrendered those titles to Teofimo Lopez. He rebounded with wins over Masayoshi Nakatani and Richard Commey before taking time out to support his home country of Ukraine, which was under attack from Russian forces. The ex-champ returned to beat Jamaine Ortiz in October.

Per Caesars, Haney is the -310 favorite, while Lomachenko is the +250 underdog. However, the challenger is not paying attention to any doubters.

Outside of the main event, several former champions compete on the card, along with rising stars, and the grandson of a boxing legend. Here is a look into the entire main card of Haney vs. Lomachenko.
