One of the top female fighters in the world is looking to make history in front of friends and friends on May 20. Katie Taylor, the undisputed lightweight champion, faces undisputed super lightweight champ Chantelle Cameron at the 3Arena in Dublin. This will be the first time Taylor has fought in Ireland as a pro.
Taylor won the WBA lightweight title in 2017, the IBF title in 2018, and the WBO title in 2019. She became the undisputed champion later that year. The Irish fighter faced Amanda Serrano in April 2022, outpointing her in front of a sold-out Madison Square Garden crowd. The pair became the first female fighters in history to headline at MSG. After plans for a rematch fell through, Taylor sought a new challenge.
"Once Serrano pulled out, this was the natural fight to make,” said Taylor. “It's two undefeated, reigning undisputed world champions going up against each other, and I believe that's the first time that's ever happened in the modern era of the sport.”

Cameron won the WBC super lightweight title in 2020, the IBF and Ring belts in 2021, and the WBA and WBO belts in 2022. Her last bout, for WBA and WBO gold, was against former Taylor opponent and reigning welterweight champ Jessica McCaskill.
A +145 underdog according to Caesars, Cameron's back is against the wall. She's not worried, however, and is ready for her chance at greatness.
“To successfully defend my belts against Taylor will be the icing on the cake for me,” said Cameron. “To become undisputed and then defend them against the pound-for-pound best in women’s boxing will really mark my place in women’s boxing and create my own legacy.”
The Taylor vs. Cameron fight is available with a DAZN subscription in most regions globally.
