Alvarez (52-1-2, 35 KOs) has spent his career bouncing around weight classes, but he's making a more ambitious change Saturday than any of his previous weight class shifts, jumping from a middleweight bout to challenging for a light heavyweight world title. The 29-year-old's last fight was in May, when he beat Daniel Jacobs to remain world middleweight championships he later relinquished.

Kovalev (34-3-1) is far from a pushover, having held multiple light heavyweight world championships in his career. Eleider Alvarez (no relation) was undefeated until Kovalev beat him to take the WBO title in February. He defended the belt against Anthony Yarde in August.

Alvarez's decorated career may have featured matches against better pound-for-pound boxers than Kovalev, but the attempt to jump weight classes throws additional uncertainty over Saturday's bout.

Here’s all the information you need to watch Canelo vs. Kovalev, including how to live stream the fight online with a DAZN subscription.
