Golden State makes the cross-country trip to Philadelphia on Wednesday looking to fight their way into playoff contention. With Steph Curry and younger players like Jonathan Kuminga developing into stars, the Warriors could be a tough out in the playoffs. First they have to get there.

Golden State has won three of four for the first time in two months and is looking to build on its hot streak against a shorthanded Philadelphia team. The 76ers are just trying to survive and maintain a decent seed in the playoffs, hoping that reigning league MVP Joel Embiid can return to spark a championship run.

The Warriors are 23-23-1 against the spread this season but have covered three of their last four. Draymond Green's return has helped Golden State's defense, as they have hit the UNDER for total points in three of four. Philadelphia has been one of the best spread bets in the league this season with a 29-20 ATS record. But since Embiid's injury, the 76ers have lost three of four and only covered the spread once.

Here is the Warriors vs. 76ers betting news, player props and a betting prediction for tonight's NBA Wednesday primetime matchup. The game tips off tonight at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.

Golden State Warriors betting news

The Warriors' dynasty may have already had its last ride, but Steph Curry and company are making one last-ditch effort to try and fight their way back into the playoff picture in the Western Conference. Winning three of their last four may have been enough to avoid a sell-off at the Wednesday trade deadline.

Steph Curry is doing all he can to carry the Warriors and has been on a ridiculous run over the last six contests. Curry has scored 29, 60, 20, 37, 46 and 33 points in the last six games. And while the other parts of the original Golden State big three, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, may be past their prime, they are still solid contributors. Perhaps more importantly, the Warriors' younger players are starting to become more than role players.

Jonathan Kuminga, who is just 21 years old is starting to look like a young Draymond Green — but a more athletic version. He has averaged 24.9 PPG and 6.7 RPG over the last 10 games while shooting north of 50% from the field and 40% from three. He is quickly becoming an all-star level player, and pairing him with Curry could extend the Warriors dynasty or even be the next step in it.

Philadelphia 76ers betting news

The 76ers' season was going well, and Joel Embiid was putting up even better numbers than his MVP campaign last season. That has been derailed with a knee injury that will sideline Embiid for six to eight weeks and possibly even the rest of the season. Philadelphia is 30-19 this season and currently has the fifth seed.

Navigating the next two months without Embiid will be challenging, and the 76ers' goal should be to maintain at least a playoff spot. It would be great to avoid the play-in tournament, but they will need to go at least .500, maybe even better. They have a four-game lead on the Heat and Magic for the seventh seed, so there is not much room for error. With an 8.5-game lead on the 10-seed Hawks, a spot in the play-in is likely at least.

It will also be a chance for Philadelphia's emerging star guard Tyrese Maxey to continue building on his career year. The Kentucky alum scored a career-high 25.9 PPG and dropped a career-high 51 points in the first full game after Embiid's injury. In some ways, the 76ers could use this as a chance for their younger and role players to take a step forward. When Embiid returns, the team will be even better equipped to make a deep run in the playoffs.

Warriors vs. 76ers prediction: Warriors take advantage of shorthanded 76ers

Philadelphia is still trying to figure out life without Embiid, as the entire offense was built around him. The Warriors are playing their best basketball of the season, especially Steph Curry and Jonathan Kuminga, who should lead them to an important road win.
