Legalized sports betting has exploded onto the scene in the United States following the reversal of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 (PASPA) in 2018. Since then, 34 states plus the District of Columbia have live and legal sports betting, with this number only increasing in the coming years.

Is sports betting legal in Nebraska?

Sports betting in Nebraska was legalized on May 26, 2021, when Governor Pete Ricketts signed Legislative Bill 561 into law to "provide regulation and enforcement regarding sports wagering." It took over two years for sports betting to go live in the Cornhusker State, but as of June 22, 2023, Nebraskans can place legal sports wagers.

However, unlike most states, sports betting in Nebraska is offered on a retail-only basis as mobile sports betting (via one's phone or computer) is prohibited.

How do I bet on sports in Nebraska?

Nebraskans 21 years of age and older can head to a licensed retail sportsbook and make their bets in person, whether it's at the counter with a sportsbook teller or at a designated sports betting kiosk. 

Can I bet on college sports in Nebraska?

While bettors in Nebraska can wager on licensed intercollegiate events, users can't bet on any collegiate events taking place in the state. For example, users can still bet on games involving the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Creighton Bluejays, but they must be road games played outside the state.

Where can I bet on sports in Nebraska?

As of June 22, 2023, the lone retail location Nebraskans can bet on sports at is the WarHorse Casino in Lincoln, a racino that operates under Ho-Chunk Inc. Other retail sportsbook locations will begin offering sports betting in the near future.
