Raiders vs. Colts injury news

Here is the current injury report for the Raiders vs. Colts.

For Las Vegas, first-team running back Josh Jacobs, who led the league in rushing last season, has missed the past two weeks with a quadriceps injury, and he might be missing his third straight since it was reported he sat out drills Wednesday.

Indianapolis is in the same boat, with top rusher Zack Moss dealing with a forearm issue that kept him out of last week's loss in Atlanta. Top receiver Michael Pittman is beaten up with a shoulder injury and concussion.

Raiders betting news

Since interim head coach Antonio Pierce took over for fired Josh McDaniels after the team's 3-5 start, Las Vegas has gone 4-3, including headline-grabbing wins the past two weeks -- 63-21 at home against the LA Chargers in Week 15 and last week's victory in KC.

In that span, Vegas has gone a money-making 5-1-1 ATS. Counting the records of the interim coaches at Carolina and the LA Chargers, the teams are 9-2-1 against the line under the new sideline leadership.

Las Vegas has made this turnaround while operating with a rookie QB (Aidan O'Connell) and, most recently, with a backup running back, Zamir White, who has stepped in for Jacobs. He had 145 rushing yards last week against the Chiefs, including a 43-yard burst to seal the win in the closing minutes.

One negative aspect of Vegas' game throughout the season has been its inability to dominate possession, for it runs the fewest plays per game at 58. But the good news for the Raiders is that the Colts are tied for most plays run by their foes with an average of 67.1 per game.

Colts betting news

This is only the third time in eight home games that the Colts will be a favorite. They were underdogs in their first five, losing four and going 2-3 ATS.

Linebacker Zaire Franklin leads the league in tackles, tied for first with 160, even though he sat out one game due to injury. He's had 10-plus tackles a whopping 10 times, including 12 last week in Indy's 29-10 loss at Atlanta.

In that loss, the Colts never got to start a drive past their 25-yard line. It's only the sixth time in a game this season a team never got to open a possession past that.

Raiders vs. Colts Predictions

One of Vegas' other shortcomings is its trouble winning three time zones from home, for they have lost their past five games back East in 2022-23, going 1-4 ATS. Meanwhile, other West Coast-area teams have gone 16-6-2 against the line.

Then again, two seasons ago, the Raiders also traveled to Indy in Week 17 and won 23-20 as an 8.5-point underdog.

On the injury front, the guess here is that Moss, who was limited in those Wednesday drills, will return to the lineup and join ex-rushing champ Jonathan Taylor behind QB Gardner Minshew. But with WR Pittman still in concussion protocol at midweek, chances are he'll sit out another game.

Although the Colts have only a 3-4 mark in their home building, they've won their past two -- 27-20 over surging Tampa Bay and two weeks ago pounding Pittsburgh 30-13 after falling behind 13-0. Vegas, meanwhile, is 2-5 on the road.

Prediction: Colts and UNDER
