Phillies vs. Diamondbacks NLCS Game 4 odds, props, predictions: Arizona's series price remains long

Arizona surprised most MLB fans by winning Game 3 of the NLCS after being dominated by the Phillies in the first two games of the series. Game 4 will be the Dbacks' chance to tie the series up as they host Philadelphia at Chase Field. Let’s take a look at odds, prop and predictions for NLCS Game 4, plus an updated series price. 

The first pitch is set for 8:07 p.m. ET, and fans can watch the game on TBS. Game 4 will be the first time in the playoffs the Phillies will have to use a fourth starting pitcher. Cristopher Sanchez will be making his first playoff start for the Phillies, and it will be his first playoff pitching appearance this postseason.

Sanchez has not pitched in a game since Sept. 30, so there is some question about how much rust he might have. After such a long break, can he give the Phillies five or six innings? The Dbacks will counter with Joe Mantiply, a lefty reliever, signaling Game 4 will be a bullpen game for Arizona.

Mantiply has allowed three runs in three postseason innings. If Arizona can steal even two innings at the start of Game 4 by Mantiply, it will be a win for them early in the game.

Philadelphia Phillies betting news

The Phillies have only lost two games in the entire postseason after their Game 3 NLCS loss to the Dbacks. The way their lineup has been mashing the ball, logic would tell you the Phillies were due for an off-game. Don't expect the Phillies to stay cold for long. 

With the Dbacks planning on a bullpen game for Game 4 of the NLCS, what are the chances the Phillies don't get to at least one or two of the Arizona relievers? The Phillies will most likely put quite a few runs on the board in Game 4.

The Phillies question mark in Game 4, though, will be their own pitching situation. Philadelphia is giving the ball to Cristopher Sanchez, who had a solid regular season but has not pitched in the playoffs. Not only that, but this will be Sanchez's first playoff appearance or start. 

Will Sanchez shine bright under the pressure of playoff baseball, or will the Dbacks get to the young lefty? Arizona Dbacks betting news

The Dbacks still have life after winning Game 3 of the NLCS. In our NLCS Game 3 preview, we said that the Dbacks would need to get a strong start from Brandon Pfaadt to have a chance, and Pfaadt delivered. The Dbacks starter went 5.2 innings, only allowing two hits and striking out nine. 

The Dbacks' bats provided just enough run support to pull off the walk-off win in the ninth inning thanks to Ketel Marte's single to center that scored Pavin Smith. Can the Dbacks carry that momentum of a walk-off win at home into Game 4? 

They will need to, as Arizona skipper Torey Lovullo is electing to go for a bullpen game. Also, Joe Mantiply, who has a 9.00 ERA in the playoffs, is the first reliever to hit the mound as the "starter." The Dbacks will have to score more runs in Game 4 to have a chance. 

With Sanchez on the mound for the Phillies, this is the chance for Arizona to attack a starter who has not pitched in 20 days. Winning will be a challenge if Arizona does not score at least five runs. It is hard to see the Phillies having a second low-scoring game in a row.
