It is getting hard to remember that the Georgia football program is mortal. At least, we think it is, and we could potentially find out on Saturday when Bulldogs face the most formidable opponent they have seen all season.

The Ole Miss Rebels have only lost one game — a close one to the Alabama Crimson Tide. Since that loss, Ole Miss has won five in a row, beating good teams like LSU, Auburn and Texas A&M. The Rebels are 3-1-1 against the spread during the five-game span.

Georgia will have its hands full on Saturday, and with Ole Miss scoring 27 points or more in the last five games, Carson Beck may need to have a big game. The Bulldogs have only covered the spread twice all season and only covered one of their last three games. This game against Ole Miss is Georgia's closest spread of the season.

Fans and sports bettors will not want to miss this matchup on Saturday. Georgia is at home with the game on ESPN for a 7 p.m. ET kickoff. In this article, we will give you the latest odds for the game, team betting news, prop bets and make a betting prediction.

Ole Miss betting news: Rebels control their own destiny

The Rebels have rebounded in a big way after losing to Alabama earlier in the season. Even with one loss, everything is still in front of Ole Miss. If the Rebels win out, they can win the SEC and would qualify for the College Football Playoff.

The biggest reason the Rebels are in this position: Quarterback Jaxson Dart has grown leaps and bounds since last season. He is averaging 274 passing yards per game with a 65.6 completion percentage and 16 touchdown passes versus only four interceptions.

What is most impressive about Dart is his play in the biggest games, elevating Ole Miss to beat opponents even if they may be a little outmatched. In wins against LSU and Texas A&M, Dart averaged 388 passing yards AND three touchdowns per game with no interceptions.

If Dart can have that type of game against Georgia, Ole Miss could prove that Georgia is mortal and will not just coast to a third straight National Championship. However, Dart will not be alone needing a big game for the Rebels to upset the Bulldogs.

The Rebel defense will have to come up with some big plays and force a few turnovers to take down the Dogs. Their starting safety pair has forced three turnovers a piece this season as one of the best safety groups in the SEC. Trey Washington leads the team in tackles with 59 — he has also tallied two interceptions and a forced and recovered fumble. John Saunders Jr. has three interceptions and is third on the team in tackles.

The game will likely be close enough that the winner of the turnover battle could be the difference in the game. With Washington and Saunders Jr. in the back end of the defense for Ole Miss, it will give them a chance in this huge SEC game.

Georgia betting news: Bulldogs keep winning, even if it's not always pretty

The Bulldogs may not always make it look pretty. They don't always cover the spread and they don't always score as much as they should, but what they also do is win. At the end of the day, none of it matters if you finish the game with more points than your opponent.

Georgia has done that better than any other team in the country over the past two and a half seasons. They will lose eventually. The question is: Will it be this year? Next year? A few years from now? Ole Miss is going to do their best to make it this week!

Georgia will not fall easily as the Goliath of college football. Carson Beck has taken over at quarterback this season and has performed really well, especially over the past three games when Georgia has been without their best player, Brock Bowers. Will Bowers play this week?

The All-American tight end is making enough progress that it is possible. He is back at practice, and it looks like he may play on Saturday. If he does, that may be the injection of energy and excitement the Bulldogs need to keep their insane win streak going.

Ole Miss vs. Georgia prediction: Bulldogs stay undefeated but don't cover the spread

The Bulldogs are the best team in college football and are the favorites by over a touchdown in this game. They deserve that respect, but don't overlook Ole Miss. A switch flipped when the Rebels lost to Alabama. They are playing the best football of any Rebels team in the Lane Kiffin era.

Georgia is too good, though, and if they get Bowers back this week, the Bulldogs will win in a tight game. Still,  tight game offers a good chance for Ole Miss to cover the spread.

Pick: Ole Miss
