North Carolina betting news: Tar Heels hope to bounce back after tough losses to Kentucky & UConn
North Carolina hasn't shied away from playing elite teams early this season. Wednesday's game against Oklahoma will mark UNC's fifth game against a ranked opponent in its last six.
UNC (7-3 SU, 4-6 ATS) dropped a tightly contested 87-83 decision to Kentucky last week. The game was lost when rookie guard Elliot Cadeau's pass bounced off Cormac Ryan's back and out of bounds with 12 seconds left.
The Tar Heels previously lost to defending national champion UConn, 87-76, in the Jimmy V Classic. This is North Carolina's first losing streak of the year, and the Tar Heels need to stem the tide versus Oklahoma.
If you're looking at player props, consider betting on R.J. Davis to go OVER his total. The senior guard has scored 25+ points as his team's leading scorer in the last five games. Davis keys North Carolina's fast-paced transition offense and leads the team with 21.6 points a game. The Tar Heels average an ACC-best 84.9 points per game.
UNC's at its best offensively when Armando Bacot gets involved early. When he establishes position in the low block, Bacot typically draws fouls or kicks the ball out to Davis or Harrison Ingram for good looks at 3-pointers.
Bacot averages a double-double with 15.2 points and an ACC-best 11.3 rebounds per game.
North Carolina's supporting cast is much deeper than last year. Ingram has been a key pickup after transferring from Stanford. The 6-7 forward averages 14.6 points per game on 43.2% shooting from behind the arc. Ryan, a transfer from Notre Dame, is yet another UNC scorer in double figures at 11.4 ppg.

Oklahoma betting news: Sooners aim to keep perfect season intact but take step up in class vs. Heels
Oklahoma's unbeaten season (10-0 SU, 8-2 ATS) has been predicated on defense. The Sooners are coming off an 81-47 victory over Green Bay in which they scored 27 points off 20 turnovers.
The Sooners average 8.1 steals and they convert a lot of them into fast-break points. Oklahoma will get out and run with North Carolina when those circumstances dictate.
The Sooners also play a physical style of defense in the half court. KenPom ranks the Sooners eighth in adjusted defensive efficiency. Oklahoma only allows 61.3 points per game, some 23 points less than North Carolina scores in each contest.
In sharp contrast to UNC, Oklahoma has benefitted from a soft schedule. The Sooners have only faced one ranked team in then No. 23 USC. They have wins over:
- Central Michigan
- Mississippi Valley State
- Texas State
- UT Rio Grande Valley
- Arkansas Pine Bluff
- Green Bay
Not exactly muderer's row there. The guard tandem of Otega Oweh (14.9 points per game) and Javian McCollum (14.3 ppg) fuels the Oklahoma offense. The latter makes 35.7% of his 3-point shot attempts.

North Carolina vs. Oklahoma prediction
Oklahoma is one of just four teams to remain unbeaten along with Houston, James Madison, and Ole Miss. The Sooners are taking a serious step up in class relative to the majority of teams they've faced so far.
North Carolina, playing in front of what will be a pro-Tar Heel crowd in Charlotte, should come out determined to end its two-game losing skid on Wednesday night.
Pick: Tar Heels
