Three of this weekend's NFL wild card matchups are outdoors, and a couple are in store for seriously frigid weather with wind and possible snow. Even the Eagles vs. Buccaneers game in Tampa is likely to be hit with high winds and rain that could affect betting markets.

The Dolphins' end-of-season collapse was not pretty and Miami limps into the playoffs as a wild card after leading the AFC East for much of the season. The Dolphins boast one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL, but playing at Arrowhead in the playoffs would be challenging for any team. Now add in the weather forecast, with temperatures around zero degrees and a windchill that could reportedly push negative 30, and the Dolphins offense faces their biggest challenge of the season. The line has trended further in favor of the Chiefs and the point total has trended slightly lower throughout the week, which makes sense as they have the better defense.
The Dolphins, riddled with injuries, simply have a lower ceiling than earlier in the season. While passing may be challenging due to the weather, each team will fall into situations where throwing will be necessary. The Chiefs, with Travis Kelce at tight end and Patrick Mahomes, the more mobile of the two quarterbacks in this game, have the advantage in the short to intermediate passing attack, with downfield throwing likely to be next to impossible.
Steelers vs. Bills weather forecast: Snow, wind on tap in Buffalo
- Kickoff: 1 p.m. ET Sunday
- Opening spread: Bills -10
- Opening OVER/UNDER: 35.5 points
- Location: Highmark Stadium, Orchard Park, New York
- Forecast: 18 degrees | Rain/snow: 85% | Wind: 28-30 mph (gusts up to 50 MPH)

A few things in life are certain: death, taxes and the Steelers going .500 or better under head coach Mike Tomlin. This was Tomlins's 17th season as the Steelers coach, and the team has never had a losing season under him. They have made the playoffs in 11 of 17 seasons. While the Steelers are heavy underdogs in their matchup with the Bills, no one thought Pittsburgh would make the playoffs.
With potentially the highest winds of the season and up to a foot of snow accumulation the night before the game, this game could be messy from the start. While the spread has not moved much after opening with a low point total, this could end up being an all-time weather game in NFL history.
Eagles vs. Buccaneers weather forecast: Wind in Tampa could affect passing games
- Kickoff: 8:15 p.m. ET Monday
- Opening betting line: Eagles -2.5
- Opening OVER/UNDER: 44 points
- Location: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Florida
- Forecast: 68 degrees | Rain/snow: 55% | Wind: 11-13 mph
Live odds for Eagles vs. Buccaneers
Compared with insane forecasts for Arrowhead and Highmark, the Eagles at Buccaneers game forecast is a delight. Still, with rain and moderate winds on tap, the passing attacks for both teams could face some challenges.
If the passing games struggle and the two teams have to utilize the rushing attacks more, that will give the Eagles an edge. They have had the stronger rushing attack this season, as Tampa Bay had one of the NFL's worst run games. Not only that, but Jalen Hurts is much more of a rushing threat at quarterback than Baker Mayfield. The line is trending more in favor of Philadelphia due to the chance of both offenses becoming more one-dimensional.
