After a strong start to the season, it's time to keep the momentum going with our NFL Week 2 teaser pick.

Our opening week teaser featured two home dogs playing divisional games, and as it turned out both the Cleveland Browns and New York Jets won their games outright. That made for a relatively sweat-free bet given both teams were getting 8.5 points on the adjusted spread.

The Browns steamrolled the Bengals, 24-3, but the injury to Aaron Rodgers on MNF gave us some pause. The Jets ultimately beat the Bills, 22-16, in overtime. But the winning teaser ticket was assured when the game was deadlocked at 16 heading into OT.

  • 2023 NFL Teaser Pick Record: 1-0
  • Season Bottom Line: +$100

Last week, we rolled with a Wong Teaser that consists exclusively of underdogs getting +1.5 to +2.5 points or favorites laying -7.5 to -8.5 points. This week, the focus is on a traditional teaser that isn't restricted to those spread requirements.

The goal is to find teasers available at the best odds. To do this, compare the odds on offer at top-rated sportsbooks across the marketplace. Here is our NFL Week 2 teaser pick for your consideration.

Chiefs at Jaguars +9

This is a rematch of last year's playoff game in the divisional round. Jacksonville went on the road to Arrowhead and gave Kansas City all it could handle before losing, 27-20.

This Week 2 contest will be played in Jacksonville, where the Jaguars have won their last five games straight-up (SU). How did the Jags fare as a home dog last year? They were a perfect 5-0 against the spread (ATS). Jacksonville is also 7-1 ATS in its last eight games overall.

New addition Calvin Ridley returned from his one-year suspension for betting on NFL games and enjoyed a breakout game for the Jaguars in the season opener. Ridley had eight catches, 111 receiving yards, and a TD in the 31-21 win over the Colts.

The Jags feature a balanced offensive attack with Travis Etienne (18 carries, 77 yards, 1 TD vs. Indy) doing damage on the ground. Trevor Lawrence was a top 10 QB last year with more than 4,000 passing yards.

Kansas City expects to have TE Travis Kelce (knee) and DT Chris Jones back in the starting lineup against Jacksonville. Kelce is reportedly recovering well from a hyperextended knee that kept him out of the Week 1 loss to Detroit. Jones signed a one-year deal to end his holdout.

Still, taking the additional six points here and crossing through the key number of "7" with the Jags feels like stealing.

Give us Jacksonville +9.

Jets +15.5 at Cowboys

Can Zach Wilson take the Jets where they need to go? Will Tom Brady un-retire (again) and take the helm for NY? What about a free agent like Carson Wentz or current backups Jacoby Brissett or Gardner Minshew? These are all valid questions in the wake of the Achilles injury that put Rodgers on the shelf for the 2023 season.

All those questions aside, the Jets unquestionably have one of the NFL's best defenses. Lost in the drama of Rodgers going down in the season opener was the fact that the Jets held the Bills to 16 points. Veteran safety Jordan Whitehead picked Josh Allen off three times and reportedly triggered a $250,000 bonus per a contract incentive.

Now, the Jets are tasked with containing Dak Prescott and the Cowboys after their 40-0 dismantling of the Giants last week.

Expect New York to lean heavily on RBs Breece Hall and Dalvin Cook in an attempt to keep Prescott and the Dallas offense on the sidelines. Cook had more carries than Hall against the Bills (13 vs 10), but the second-year back led the Jets with 127 rushing yards. Those stats could flip this week, but the important thing will be to control the clock and limit offensive possessions for Dallas.

The Jets have played to the Under in five straight games and six of their last seven on the road. That will likely need to be the case again in Week 2 at Dallas if New York wants a chance to win this game. For the purposes of our NFL Week 2 teaser pick, we just need Gang Green to stay within shouting distance. Teasing this number up through "14" should be enough to get that done.

New York's defense is stout throughout. RDT Quinnen Williams is a force up front, LB Quincy Williams (10 tackles vs. Buffalo) manages the middle of the field, and the secondary features shutdown corner Sauce Gardner and fellow CB D.J. Reed (11 tackles vs. Buffalo). Oh, and don't forget about Whitehead at safety.

Take the Jets +15.5.
