After watching the opening week of the 2023 NFL season, it's time to get off the sidelines and make our NFL Week 2 parlay pick.

Depending on your age and sphere of influence, you might remember those football parlay cards that, say, your local barber dispensed on a weekly basis. Oh, the joy of hitting four picks to win at 11-1 odds! More often, of course, it was the frustration of one leg of the parlay falling on the wrong side of the spread.

Critics insist that parlays are sucker bets. It's hard to argue with every additional leg you add to a parlay. These bets are inherently harder to win with multiple outcomes needing to go your way, but we're going to try anyway -- and with a twist.

Point spreads will be irrelevant, as moneyline parlays will be our focus this season. There's a lot of satisfaction in hitting a four-team moneyline parlay featuring favorites that only need to win outright, and even more on a two-team moneyline parlay with two underdogs at longer odds.

Chiefs vs. Jaguars betting analysis

The Chiefs are riding a five-game winning streak against the Jags, but the tide may finally be turning in what could become a bona fide rivalry in the AFC.

Jacksonville's offense started the season strong in a 31-21 win over Indianapolis. Four different players -- Calvin Ridley, Zay Jones, Tank Bigsby, and Travis Etienne Jr. -- found the end zone.

Trevor Lawrence threw for a pair of TDs, and the Jags used the ground game to produce two additional scores. It was Ridley who amassed 100+ receiving yards in his first game back from suspension, but Jones and Christian Kirk give Lawrence a wealth of options in the passing game. The Jags have the horses to keep pace with the Chiefs if this turns out to be a high-scoring affair.

Yes, the Chiefs are expected to have both TE Travis Kelce (knee) and DT Chris Jones back in the lineup after they missed the season opener against Detroit. Jones ended his holdout and inked a one-year deal to remain in Kansas City. But what kind of football shape will he be in vs the Jaguars?

It's always risky to bet against Patrick Mahomes, but we think the Jags are getting the Chiefs at the right time before they develop continuity on both sides of the ball. Kansas City looked disjointed and drop-prone on offense in the 21-20 loss to Detroit.

Saints vs. Panthers betting analysis

Living in the greater Charlotte metro area and watching the Panthers play each week will hopefully inform this selection -- or make me look like an absolute dope.

Carolina didn't play poorly in its season-opening 24-10 loss at Atlanta. The Panthers just turned the ball over at inopportune times, and the Falcons made them pay by scoring 17 points off the giveaways. It's difficult to win any NFL game when you lose the turnover battle, 3-0.

No. 1 draft pick Bryce Young was picked off twice in his debut, but we'll chalk that up to early growing pains. The Panthers had no trouble moving the ball on the ground, as RBs Miles Sanders and Chuba Hubbard combined for 132 rushing yards. All signs point toward No. 1 WR DJ Chark (hamstring) being able to play in this Monday Night Football matchup, which will help the Panthers stretch the field and open up running lanes at the same time.

Expect Carolina's defense to be the difference in its home opener against the Saints. The Panthers held the Falcons to 115 passing yards and sacked QB Desmond Ridder four times. Brian Burns, the two-time Pro Bowl edge rusher, led the way with a pair of sacks.

The Panthers employ a new 3-4 scheme on defense that proved vulnerable against Atlanta's top RB tandem of Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier. The good news is Alvin Kamara will not play for the Saints due to suspension.

Carolina swept the season series against New Orleans last year. Bonus tip: The Under has cashed in the last five games between the Panthers and Saints.
