Earlier this week, we examined odds being offered on the NFL's last undefeated team this season. Fans of the 49ers, Eagles, and Cowboys should feel good about their prospects in that betting market.
Now it's time to turn our focus to betting odds on the last winless NFL team this year. Die-hard supporters of the Cardinals, Texans, and Panthers should feel lousy about their teams being atop the odds board in this case.
Who will earn the dubious distinction of being the NFL's final winless team? We have a strong opinion on how you should attack this betting market. First, though, here's an opportunity to build your bankroll by claiming the best betting bonuses at top-rated sportsbooks.

Arizona Cardinals
Take heart, Arizona fans. It sounds like Kyler Murray is working his way back from the torn ACL that shelved him late last season. Murray, who will miss at least the next two games, posted this rehab video on Tik Tok with the message to fans: "I won't let you down."

The Cardinals have lost nine straight games dating back to last November, but they are 2-0 against the spread this season. So, you got that going for you. Seriously, though, Arizona arguably should have won both games against the Commanders and Giants.
Unfortunately, the schedule does Arizona no favors the next two weeks with Dallas and San Francisco up next. Should Murray make it back for Week 5, the Cardinals get a struggling Cincinnati team at home and the Rams that following weekend.

Houston Texans
Only the Bears (3-14) finished with a worse record than the Texans (3-13-1) last year. But the Texans are the defending "champs" here as the NFL's last winless team in 2022.
Houston didn't win a game last season until Week 5 at Jacksonville, where rookie QB C.J. Stroud and mates will play this weekend.
Stroud enjoyed a breakout game in Houston's 31-20 loss to Indy last week with 384 passing yards, a pair of TD passes, and no picks. This is what Houston envisioned when it selected Stroud as the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft.
Then, there's this stat from the "things that make you go, huh" category: Houston's riding a five-game winning streak in road games at Jacksonville.
Hold off on Houston.
Carolina Panthers
It's official: Andy Dalton will get the start against the Seahawks on Sunday. Rookie QB Bryce Young (ankle) can probably use some time on the sidelines to watch and learn from the veteran anyway.
But Carolina is beat up on the defensive side of the ball, too. Stud LB and captain Shaq Thompson (broken fibula) is done for the season, and starting CB Jaycee Horn (hamstring) continues to miss more games than he appears in. Horn has started 17 career games to date in his third season with Carolina.
After the Seahawks on Sunday, Carolina faces the Vikings, Lions, and Dolphins. The Panthers could conceivably be 0-6 heading into their bye week and then the Oct. 29 tilt vs. the Texans. Will we have a matchup of winless teams in Week 8? Not exactly appointment viewing, but stay tuned.
How to bet: The struggle is real in Carolina. There appears to be a perfect storm brewing between key injuries, a lack of playmakers, and a rookie QB needing more time to learn his trade. Take the Panthers to be the final winless team in the NFL this season at nice odds.
Winless season betting odds on any NFL team to go 0-17
Bet365 is also dealing odds on any NFL team to go winless this season. You can bet the "Yes" at +900 or "No" at -1600.
The Cleveland Browns are the most recent team to suffer a winless season. The Browns went 0-16 during the 2017 season. Detroit became the first team to suffer an 0-16 season when the Lions failed to record in victory in 2008.
There were others before the advent of the NFL's 16-game season in 1978, but this remains a longshot given it's only happened twice since then.
How to bet: Pass. Unless you're cynical or mean-spirited and simply want to root for a team to join the Browns and Lions in NFL lore for futility, take a pass on this play. There's no real value at -1600 for the most likely outcome, and it will take a "magical" set of circumstances for any NFL team to go winless in the current 17-game regular season.
