Dolphins vs. Commanders betting lines: Point spread, moneyline, total for NFL Week 13 matchup

Here's the latest NFL betting odds for Dolphins vs. Commanders:

This marks the fifth time Miami has been a favorite of nine or more points this season. The Dolphins won the previous four games and were 3-1 ATS.

Washington has been this big an underdog once this year when Dallas was a 13-point pick over them on Thanksgiving. The Commanders laid down in a 45-10 beatdown.

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, third in the league with 22 touchdown passes, faces a Commanders' defense that ranks last in defensive passer rating and has allowed five more scoring throws than any other team with 28.

Tagovailoa has previously faced two of the bottom five pass defenses, the LA Chargers and Denver Broncos. He totaled seven touchdown throws and one interception while averaging 386.5 yards.

Conversely, Washington has already faced two top-five passers: No. 2 Dak Prescott of Dallas and No. 5 Russell Wilson of Denver. They finished with seven touchdowns, one interception, and an average of 319.5 passing yards.

Dolphins vs. Commanders injury report

Here is the current injury report for the Dolphins vs. Commanders:

Miami has a pair of high-profile performers listed in WR Tyreek Hill and RB Raheem Mostert. They were either limited or didn't participate in drills Wednesday. Star left tackle Terron Armstead is said to be week-to-week (quadriceps).

Washington doesn't have quite the laundry list of injured players, but the Commanders probably don't want to be without center Tyler Larsen (knee).

Dolphins betting news

Hill and Jaylen Waddle teamed for 100 yards for the second time last week against the Jets' sixth-ranked pass defense (passer rating).  But will Hill be full-go on Sunday?

Meanwhile, the Dolphins' defense is coming off a seven-sack game. Now they'll be targeting Howell, who has gone down 55 times. That's 15 more than anyone else.

The bad news is that edge-rusher Jaelan Phillips tore his Achilles last week, ending his season. He's played in only eight games but shares the team lead in sacks with 6.5.

Commanders betting news

Although Washington is coming off a coveted pseudo bye after playing last Thursday, a 45-10 loss in Dallas, the Commanders won't benefit from the usual advantage of facing a team coming off normal rest. Miami also had extra rest after beating the host NY Jets 34-13 on Black Friday.

In that loss to the Cowboys, the Commanders never started a drive past their own 25-yard line. That marked the fifth-straight game they didn't open a possession in enemy territory. Meanwhile, foes had seven short fields in that span.

To compound matters, Washington has a league-worst turnover differential of minus-9. Yikes! 40 seasons ago, Washington set the NFL record for the best margin at plus-43.

And although Howell leads the league in passing yards, he's the only quarterback in the top eight playing for a losing team. He'll be assisted by bruising RB Brian Robinson.

Dolphins vs. Commanders predictions

This will match Miami's No. 1-ranked offense against the league's No. 32-ranked defense. Plus, the Commanders just fired their defensive coordinator, Jack Del Rio.

But that's not the whole story.

With almost a 50% chance of rain forecast at kickoff, Miami's speedy air and ground game might be slowed significantly. As mentioned, some key Miami offensive guys are ailing, especially along the offensive line.

Prediction: Commanders and UNDER
