Clemson Tigers betting news
Clemson has been one of the early season Cinderella teams in college hoops, winning their first nine games, including as underdogs against Alabama (85-77) and Pittsburgh (+1.5) in consecutive matchups. They have been overachieving for sure and have surprised some in the media, but it should not be shocking considering the players they brought back.
PJ Hall was a four-star recruit and has stayed for four years at Clemson. The senior has improved every year and is simply dominating and playing his best in the biggest games. He is averaging 20.5 PPG, with 6.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.4 blocks. The star Tigers center is doing it while shooting 56.4% from the field and 39.6% from three. He is stuffing the stat sheet every night and has put himself into the conversation and odds not only for ACC Player of the Year but also for National Player of the Year.
He is not the only player who is performing at a high level, as Syracuse transfer Joseph Girard III is looking like the key piece Clemson needed to go from NCAA Tournament contender to Final Four contender. The fifth-year senior guard leads the team in assists with 3.7 per game and is second on the team in points, averaging 15.6 per night.
The potent combination of guard and post play has led Clemson to the 17th-ranked offensive-adjusted efficiency rating on Kenpom. The Tigers are solid on defense as their adjusted defensive efficiency ranks 37th, which is impressive considering their opponents offensive adjusted efficiency rating average is 23rd.
Miami Hurricanes betting news
Miami is close to Clemson, ranking 28th for adjusted offensive efficiency on Kenpom. They rank far behind the Tigers defensively, as the Hurricanes rank 123rd for adjusted defensive efficiency. Making it even worse, their subpar defensive ranking has come against opponents whose average offensive efficiency rating is 319th.
Miami will not win this game by clamping up Clemson on defense but instead will try to do it by outscoring them. It is a risky but exciting way to play, and it has been successful for much of the season to this point. Miami has four players averaging 12.6 points per game or more. Norchad Omier is the leading scorer at 17.6 PPG, followed by Wooga Poplar at 16.2 PPG, Matthew Cleveland at 14.9 PPG and Nijel Pack at 12.6 PPG. Pack also leads the team in assists with 4.2 per game.
Those four players are giving the Hurricanes an average of 61.3 points a night. Miami will also have a tough time guarding Clemson's star center, as Norchad Omier at 6-foot-7 is the tallest player in Miami's rotation.

Clemson vs. Miami prediction: Clemson frontcourt dominates in big road win
As a solid defensive team, Clemson matches up well with Miami, Yet, for the Hurricans, who will match up with 6-foot-10 PJ Hall and keep him from dropping 30-plus points?
To make matters worse, who will match up and stop Clemson's leading rebounder, Ian Schieffelin, who is top 20 in the nation with 9.8 rebounds per game? The frontcourt for Clemson should dominate, leading them to a big road win at Miami.
Pick: Clemson
