Las Vegas-based Circa Sports offers the largest Survivor contest in the US with one winner guaranteed $8 million, and NFL Week 3 delivered the biggest gut punch to date.

Sunday resembled a stock market crash, as 3,435 (or 58%) of the remaining 5,916 Circa Survivor entries were eliminated after the Jaguars, Ravens, and Cowboys all lost as big favorites.

Just three weeks into the season, 73% of 9,267 total entries have been eliminated. That's up over the 67% that fell by the wayside through Week 3 last year. A total of 2,481 entries remain alive.

Circa Survivor contest marred by NFL Week 3 upsets

The bloodletting began when the Houston Texans rolled over the Jacksonville Jaguars, 37-17, as a 7.5-point road favorite. The Indianapolis Colts were also getting 7.5 points on the road against the Baltimore Ravens. The Colts upset the Ravens, 22-19, in overtime.

The Dallas Cowboys lost to the Arizona Cardinals, 28-16, as a 13-point road favorite. Here's the breakdown on the number of entries that were eliminated by team:

  • Jaguars (2,421)
  • Ravens (621)
  • Cowboys (367)

NFL Week 3 concludes with another Monday Night Football doubleheader featuring Eagles vs. Buccaneers and Rams vs. Bengals. Nobody was brave enough to take the Bucs, but there are 23 entries riding on MNF games with the Eagles (18), Rams (2), and Bengals (3).

Circa Survivor rules dictate that you can use each NFL team once during the contest. One entry costs $1,000 and players can buy up to 10 entries. Players in other U.S. states can compete in Circa Survivor by using a Nevada-based proxy.

The weekly contest rolls on until a single entry remains with the winner guaranteed the $8 million prize, which is split evenly if multiple entries remain. Up to 20 picks are made through 18 weeks of the NFL regular season along with Thanksgiving/Black Friday and Christmas Day games.

NFL Betting Trends Through Week 3

Road underdogs continue to thrive early in the 2023 NFL season. With the Texans and Colts leading the way with outright upsets on Sunday, road dogs are now 17-12-1 against the spread (ATS) on the year and winning at a 58.62% clip.

Three NFL teams remain perfect ATS: the Dolphins, Cardinals, and Packers are all 3-0 against the number. The Rams have a chance to join that group as a 1.5-point dog vs. the Bengals tonight.

On the flip side, these teams have been wallet busters so far ATS:

  • Broncos (0-3)
  • Giants (0-3)
  • Bears (0-3)
  • Vikings (0-2-1)
  • Panthers (0-2-1)
  • Saints (0-2-1)

The Bengals are 0-2 ATS heading into tonight's MNF clash with the Rams as a short favorite. Sign up with top-rated sportsbooks and claim thousand of dollars in betting bonuses ahead of tonight's MNF doubleheader by clicking the red "Play Now" buttons below!
