Chargers vs. Raiders player props and picks: Ekeler, Adams to shine on Thursday Night Football

The Los Angeles Chargers are on the road for a Thursday Night Football battle with the Las Vegas Raiders to begin NFL Week 15. Justin Herbert’s absence may take away from the allure of the contest, but several playmakers on both teams still make TNF player props a great market for the game.

The game starts at 8:15 p.m. ET on Amazon Prime. Let’s dive into the best player prop picks and odds for Chargers vs. Raiders.

TNF player prop odds: Ekeler tops rushing + receiving total yards betting board

Here are rushing + receiving total yards OVER/UNDER odds at top-rated sportsbooks for the Chargers vs. Raiders Thursday Night Football matchup, with LA star running back Austin Ekeler expected to tally the biggest number (as of this Thursday morning post, Raiders RB Josh Jacobs is questionable with a quad injury):

Chargers vs. Raiders player prop picks: Adams, Ekeler, Allen on our TNF bet slip

Here are our top Thursday Night Football player props for Chargers vs. Raiders:

  • Davante Adams OVER 66.5 receiving yards
  • Austin Ekeler OVER 46.5 rushing yards
  • Keenan Allen UNDER 62.5 receiving yards

Davante Adams OVER receiving yards

The Chargers pass defense has been a mess. They're one of the best teams in the league at creating sacks, ranking second with 43, but their ability to create pressure hasn't translated to turnovers. LA is tied for 19th with 17 takeaways, 17th in scoring, and 29th in yards allowed.

The abhorrent pass defense has been especially troublesome, ranking in the bottom four of passing attempts and yards allowed, and are 27th in net yards per attempt despite the Chargers' sacks.

This all bodes well for Davante Adams. The superstar playmaker has seen a dip across the board in his production in his second season with the franchise. Dealing with injuries to Jimmy Garoppolo and then a rookie QB in Aidan O'Connell hasn't helped.

However, Adams has been getting hot lately. He's seen 43 targets over the last four games, putting him back on track to reach 1,000 yards for the fourth straight season.

With at least 53 yards and five catches in each game over the last month, look for Adams to continue his tear against this favorable matchup.

Austin Ekeler OVER rushing yards

Austin Ekeler no longer has the movement ability that made him a special player from 2019 through 2022, but that won't stop the Chargers from relying on him.

With Herbert on the sidelines due to a wrist injury, backup QB Easton Stick will rely on the veteran back. Ekeler averages a career-high in rushing attempts per game (13.6) and still sees 3.6 receptions per game.

With at least 10 carries in every game he's played this season and coming off his best week of the last month, Ekeler is set up for a respectable performance. The 28-year-old is facing the NFL's 25th-ranked run defense. Las Vegas has allowed under 100 rushing yards only four times this season.

Keenan Allen UNDER receiving yards

As Herbert is out for the rest of the season, banking on any of the Chargers playmakers to produce at their usual level is risky. Keenan Allen has been excellent for much of the year, reaching the 100-yard mark five times. However, he caught only three passes for 32 yards and a touchdown in his first matchup with the Raiders this season.

Vegas' pass defense has been surprisingly effective this season. They rank eighth in yards allowed and have given some of the best passing offenses real trouble in finding success.

With Stick in, Allen's chances of reaching his total declines significantly. Not only can the Raiders' pass rush haunt Stick, but their secondary will swarm to wherever Allen is.
