How to bet on the Ryder Cup in Kentucky

The Ryder Cup is the rare golf tournament that gives you the option to simply pick a winning team.

Most golf tournaments come with long odds on the majority of participants to win outright. After all, even though there are favorites, you’re selecting one from a large field in a fairly unpredictable sport.

But this weekend in Italy, the major prize will be claimed by either the United States or Europe, and the odds look more like a soccer match than a golf tournament.

Here’s how it’s listed at BetMGM Kentucky:

  • Europe +100
  • Tie +1100
  • US +110

Europe is the slight favorite, and a $100 bet on the home team would return $200 ($100 in winnings plus your original stake). A $100 bet on the American side would return $210, and the same wager on a tie would get you $1,200. They can tie at 14 in the Ryder Cup.

There’s also a tie no bet option, which offers Europe at -120 ($183.33 payout on a $100 bet) and the US at -105 ($195.24). The odds decrease for the bettor with the tie settling as a push.

Of course, there’s plenty more you can bet on the Ryder Cup during the opening weekend of online sports betting in Kentucky.

  • Jordan Spieth +1100
  • Rickie Fowler +1600

  • Justin Rose +1400

Here are the odds for top American rookie:

  • Max Homa +150
