Dabo Swinney (Clemson)
Swinney was a walk-on wide receiver at Alabama during his playing days. He started his coaching career as a grad assistant for the Crimson Tide.
Swinney has led Clemson to two national championships with wins over Alabama in the title game each time.
Swinney's not a fan of NIL deals or the transfer portal, and that seems like a prerequisite for Alabama's next head coach.
Steve Sarkisian (Texas)
Sarkisian served as both an analyst and offensive coordinator at Alabama before leaving in 2022. Sarkisian has since rebuilt the vaunted Texas program. The Longhorns (12-2) defeated Alabama this season, and qualified for the College Football Playoff before losing to Washington in the semifinals.
Lane Kiffin (Ole Miss)
Another coach with connections to Alabama, Kiffin served as offensive coordinator under Saban from 2014-2016. As head coach at Ole Miss for the past three seasons, Kiffin is 29-10 with three bowl appearances and a victory in this year's Peach Bowl over Penn State.
