Endy Chavez became part of baseball lore in 2006 with his over-the-wall catch for the Mets in Game 7 of the NLCS vs. the Cardinals. On Wednesday, he pulled off another miraculous outfield grab, almost 12 years to the day later.

This time, Chavez did it for Magallanes, his Venezuelan winter league club. He took a home run away from Caracas' Jesus Guzman to end the top of the first inning.

It wasn't as dramatic as his leap through the Shea Stadium outfield to snatch back Scott Rolen's drive and start an inning-ending double play . . .

. . . but it was still an impressive play by the now 40-year-old outfielder, who last played in the majors in 2014 with the Mariners and who spent last summer with the Somerset (N.J.) Patriots of the independent Atlantic League.

Unfortunately for Chavez, Magallanes lost Wednesday, just as those Mets did in '06.
