Shaun White is back for a fourth Olympic tour as he attempt to win a third gold medal in his signature event: the halfpipe.
White, 31, is one of the most decorated and well-known snowboarders in the history of the sport. In the three previous Winter Olympics, he won two gold medals in the halfpipe — the only event he runs. He also has 13 gold, three silver and two bronze medals from the Winter X Games in both the superpipe and slopestyle.

White holds the record for the highest score in men's halfpipe in Olympic history. He first broke the record in Torino in 2006 with his 46.8 performance, then set his own record in Vancouver in 2010 with 48.4. That year, the White-led USA snowboarding team took home an Olympic record 37 medals.
