The men's Olympic golf competition has eclipsed expectations through three rounds.
Englishman Justin Rose and Swede Henrik Stenson are set to face off in a duel for gold Sunday after separating from the pack in Round 3. Rose shot a 6-under 65 to take a one-shot lead over the recent British Open champion.

Despite battling through heavy winds Saturday, a number of players posted low scores. In fact, three of the four Americans shot under par and put themselves in contention to win a medal.
Bubba Watson has the best chance tied for fourth at 6 under, but Matt Kuchar is lurking at one shot behind, at 5 under.
With pros grappling for the meaning of the Olympic competition, many feared the tournament would not provide the excitement of a normal PGA Tour event. But so far, Olympic golf has given fans plenty cheer about.

Here are Sunday's final round contenders and what they need to do to win:
Justin Rose (-12) — After two early eagles, Rose quieted down for a while in Round 3. He rebounded with birdies on two of his last four holes and should be confident heading into the final round. Rose needs to continue putting well if he is going to fend off Stenson and win gold. Regardless, a podium spot looks likely.
Henrik Stenson (-11) — Stenson's torrid summer continued Saturday when he shot a 3-under 68 to put himself in great shape to at least win silver. Though Stenson sometimes has trouble playing well in high winds — because of his high ball flight — he did a nice job taking advantage of opportunities Saturday. If he does that again in Round 4 he may just win gold.
Marcus Fraser (-9) — Fraser spent the first two rounds on top of the leaderboard, but struggled to make birdies in Round 3. He is in danger of losing out on a podium spot with a host of challengers behind him. He needs to be more aggressive Sunday.
Bubba Watson (-6) — Taking a break from his busy Olympic spectating schedule, Watson came out and fired another impressive round Saturday. The two-time major champion could add an Olympic medal to his mantle if he plays well again. He is certainly determined enough to do it.
Others in contention:
David Lingmerth (-6)
Emiliano Grillo (-6)
Matt Kuchar (-5)
Rickie Fowler (-3)
