MORE: Meet Team USA
Haiti's Jeffrey Julmis became a living illustration of that truth Tuesday during the men's 110-meter hurdle semifinals at the Rio Olympic Games.
Prior to the start of the race, he exuded all the confidence in the world, tappping his wrist in front of a camera to signify it was his time and pointing to the heavens. But fate had other plans; he got busted out of the gate to end his dreams of capturing a gold.
Yikes!
He did, however, get up and finish the race despite being disqualified, to the applause of the spectators on hand.
Muy fan de Jeffrey Julmis de Haití.
