Draymond Green not fazed by arrest, focusing on 'defending our country' image

Draymond Green’s reputation has taken a hit since his flurry of flagrant fouls in the NBA playoffs and recent arrest. However, the Warriors star plans on just being himself in the future.

"Being me has gotten me this far," Green told reporters Monday (via ESPN.com).

Green will be in court Thursday as he face charges of misdemeanor assault and battery after former Michigan State football player Jermaine Edmondson accused Green of punching him outside of an East Lansing, Mich., restaurant July 10.

"My attorneys are handling everything," Green said as he prepares for the Olympics. "Leave it in their hands and I got an opportunity to compete for a gold medal. You don't let any type of distraction get in the way of that. This [is] not about me. It's not about anyone on this team. It's about going out and defending our country the right way, so everything else is kind of secondary to that."

Green has not been disciplined by Team USA, the Warriors or the NBA.

"It's bigger than anybody on this team," Green said. "That's just the stuff we have to remember."
