Arsenal will hope to push themselves back into the title mix by beating Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday evening.

After losing two in a row in August, the Gunners have won six of their past seven games and earned a respectable 0-0 draw at Chelsea.

They are now six points back of Manchester City and Manchester United but will not have it easy against Watford, who could overtake them with a win.

GAME PREVIEW

Granit Xhaka Arsenal

All things considered, it has not been too bad of a start to the season for Arsenal.

The Gunners suffered consecutive defeats in August and another mauling at Liverpool that had many anticipating another crisis, but they recovered with a good September.

That has left them a point behind Tottenham, level with Chelsea and, ironically, a point ahead of Liverpool.

There is little evidence to suggest Arsenal are capable of mounting a title challenge this year. The Manchester clubs look too strong, and Arsene Wenger's team remains in a state of flux with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez's contracts running down.

Wenger even suggested this week that the club would consider offers for both players in January.

But Arsenal have shown enough to suggest they may be able to put themselves in the mix for the top four, even if the other three clubs they will be competing with might all still be favoured over them for now.

Where they go from there remains cloudy.
