Arsenal remain convinced that they will be able to retain Alexis Sanchez and have informed PSG that he will not be sold, Goal understands.

The Ligue 1 club remain interested in signing the Chile international, with the likes of Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Juventus also keen on securing the 28-year-old's services.

Manchester City are another that have been strongly linked, and Goal understands Pep Guardiola's side are convinced that they can lure the former Barcelona star to the Etihad Stadium.

Sanogo confirms Arsenal exit

Alexis has enjoyed an impressive 2016-17 campaign with the Gunners and was the only player in the Premier League to reach double figures for both goals (24) and assists (10) over the length of the season.

There are still doubts over his long-term future at the Emirates Stadium, however, with the forward having less than 12 months remaining on his current contract.

Arsene Wenger has insisted publicly that Alexis, and Mesut Ozil - whose contract also expires in 2018 - will not be sold, telling beIN SPORTS that he will not "weaken the club" by letting them go.

And a source from within the Gunners camp has reiterated that message, telling Goal that PSG have been left "convinced" that Alexis will not be allowed to leave after they had expressed an interest.

Iwobi: Wenger will sign another contract

Wenger recently signed his own contract extension at Emirates Stadium, keeping him with the north Londoners until at least 2019, despite a disappointing league campaign that saw the club finish fifth in the table.

And while the Frenchman has promised new additions to the squad in an attempt to start the 2017-18 campaign strongly, the 67-year-old warned there would only be a maximum of "two or three" signings.
