Arsenal team news: Ozil returns from illness against Huddersfield image

Mesut Ozil has shaken off an illness to return to the Arsenal starting XI for their home date with Huddersfield.

The Gunners will be seeking to cement their top-four standing in the Premier League when they take on the Terriers, with Arsene Wenger’s side having edged ahead of out-of-sorts arch-rivals Tottenham.

Having their Germany international playmaker back at Arsene Wenger’s disposal should aid that cause, with Ozil an important creative influence.

His return is the only change made to the team which secured a dramatic victory away at Burnley last time out.

Wenger has plenty of attacking options to utilise off the bench, should he wish to do so.

If Arsenal find themselves toiling at any stage, then the likes of Jack Wilshere, Alex Iwobi, Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud will all be raring to go.

The Gunners will, however, be hoping to enjoy a comfortable night’s work against top-flight newcomers.

While Huddersfield have held their own among the elite on home soil, they have registered just one win on their travels.

Arsenal XI: Cech, Koscielny, Mustafi, Monreal, Bellerin, Ramsey, Xhaka, Kolasinac, Ozil, Lacazette, Sanchez.

Subs: Ospina, Mertesacker, Coquelin, Wilshere, Iwobi, Welbeck, Giroud.
