It took a while, but the Seahawks offense finally matched the effort of their defense by putting points on the scoreboard and blowing out the Vikings 21-7.
With both teams jockeying for wild card positioning in the NFC, Seattle extended its cushion heading into the final three weeks of the season, moving 1 1/2 games ahead of Minnesota for the No. 5 seed.

The Vikings were flat out dominated by the Seahawks defense, which had a key goal line stand and a blocked field goal on top of only 276 yards allowed. Bobby Wagner, who blocked the field goal, added nine tackles to lead the defense.
Russell Wilson had the lowest passing yards of his career (72) and threw a careless goal line interception, but he added a crucial 40-yard run on Seattle’s 63-yard drive at the end of the fourth quarter, which ended in a touchdown run from Chris Carson to put the game out of reach.
Just for good measure, Justin Coleman added a fumble recovery for a touchdown.
Minnesota remains in possession of the No. 6 seed in the NFC, but its grip is tenuous at best and questions still exist about whether its offense can perform well enough to push the team into the playoffs.
