Western Sydney Wanderers captain Dimas has declared playmaker Nico Martinez can show their fans how good he really is and inspire a rare win in Saturday night's Sydney derby.
Martinez, 29, has been a creative spark for the Wanderers throughout the season and Dimas senses the Argentine can have a key impact against Sydney FC in a game the Red-and-Black desperately need to win.
Western Sydney haven't won a Sydney derby in over three years, while they have just two victories this season to sit seventh in the A-League table - 22 points behind the Sky Blues.
"He's [Martinez] a very important player for us… a top player. Hopefully this weekend he can show how good he is," Dimas told the A-League's website on Wednesday.
The Wanderers have endured a disappointing run of results so far in 2016-17, including their current streak of five matches without a win, while they also haven't kept a clean sheet this term.
Martinez, who is on loan from Olympiakos, has been a shining light with his tricky play and ability to create chances in tight areas, although Dimas insists Western Sydney have many weapons.
"This team is not just one player. We all have to play to our ability to win and that's what we want to do," Dimas said.
The Spanish midfielder added: "The secret to this team is we are like a family. It doesn't matter what happens or the score we stay together.
"We are very close, all together. For us the most important thing is keep believing in ourselves because we perform very well and hopefully this weekend we can celebrate a victory.
"The team deserve a win against Sydney FC and we believe we can get the three points.
"We know it's a derby, it's a big game for us, for our supporters but the most important is to win to try and change the situation and to get more confidence in our football.
"This is more than one game, it's a special game."
Dimas dismissed talk the Sky Blues would be vulnerable with a few key players missing and believes the key for Western Sydney will be staying in the contest early on.
History suggests it will be a tough assignment for the Wanderers, who have failed to win in the last eight derbies, including a 4-0 drubbing in the opening round.
But Dimas insists confidence won't be an issue for the visitors, even in the front third where scoring goals has been an issue for the side.
Striker Brendon Santalab is still suspended meaning either Lachlan Scott or Jaushua Sotirio will lead the Wanderers' attack.
"It's not about confidence, just sometimes in football the ball won't go in," said Dimas when asked about the side's goal-scoring problems.
"The most important is the chances we are creating, we would be worried if there were no chances and we weren't playing good.
"But in this case we have confidence in our football and in our team.
"The most important is to focus on our things, don't give anything away and stay in the match until the end because we know we create many chances.
"We always create chances to score so if we are in the game until the end we have a good chance to win."
