Fantasy RB Rankings Week 10: Who to start, sit at running back in fantasy football image

As the NFL season sprints toward Week 10, fantasy football wins take on more importance and finding solid starting running backs becomes increasingly difficult. Between four teams on bye (Patriots, Bengals, Ravens, Jets) and a handful of key injuries, including Aaron Jones, our Week 10 fantasy RB rankings for standard leagues are thinner than usual.

Of course, the top tier remains indisputable. Saquon Barkley (vs. Texans in Week 10), Christian McCaffrey (vs. Chargers), Nick Chubb (@ Dolphins), Derrick Henry (vs. Broncos), and Austin Ekeler (@ 49ers) will always be lineup locks, regardless of matchup or format. If he returns from his ankle injury, Jonathan Taylor (@ Raiders) has a great matchup with a Vegas squad that entered Week 9 allowing the ninth-most fantasy points per game (FPPG) to RBs. Leonard Fournette (vs. Seahawks) should also bounce back with some chunk plays against a Seattle D that's allowed five backs to reach at least 143 rushing yards.

David Montgomery (vs. Lions) remains in the top 15 because his coaching staff stubbornly believes in him and Detroit tends to suck defensively (23.8 FPPG allowed to RBs, third most), but Khalil Herbert should get enough run to pay off as at least a flex. Similarly, all four of Jamaal Williams and D'Andre Swift (@ Bears) and Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott (@ Packers) are in play, assuming Zeke is back from his knee injury. Swift gets limited snaps, but he's explosive enough to pay off in this favorable matchup. Williams, like Elliott, is always a threat for short scores.

WEEK 10 PPR RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

Not all committees are as easy to figure out. D'Onta Foreman (vs. Falcons), who managed just 21 total yards on nine touches last week, could see his snap share eaten into by Chuba Hubbard (ankle) if he returns. We still like Foreman, but he might be more of a flex this week. The same goes for Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. (vs. Browns), who have a fantastic matchup but could split carries equally again. Antonio Gibson and Brian Robinson Jr. (@ Eagles) are in a similar timeshare, but they're in a much tougher situation this week against Philadelphia, rendering both to low-end flex status.

WEEK 10 STANDARD RANKINGS:
QBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

Denver's trio of Melvin Gordon, Latavius Murray, and Chase Edmonds (@ Titans) is a complete mess in a bad matchup. Ditto for the Rams' Cam Akers, Darrell Henderson Jr., and, if healthy, Kyren Williams (vs. Cardinals). We have some faith in Gordon, but both of these situations are potential stayaways in shallow leagues. The same is true for Isiah Pacheco, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and Jerrick McKinnon (vs. Jaguars), though they have a decent matchup.

WEEK 10 FANTASY PICKS: Sleepers | Busts | Start 'em, sit 'em

It will also be somewhat tough to trust Devin Singletary (vs. Vikings) considering Minnesota entered Week 9 allowing just 15.9 FPPG to RBs and Buffalo is low-key struggling right now. James Conner (@ Rams) seems like he's getting eased back in after a three-week absence due to injury and has a tough matchup, too. And it's always tough to trust Najee Harris (vs. Saints), especially against New Orleans' stout run defense. Volume alone makes these guys potential flexes, but their ceilings aren't particularly high.

WEEK 10 DFS LINEUPS: DraftKings | FanDuel

If you have players who have produced shoddy results on your bench for weeks and seem like they will never make their way to your starting lineup, grab a promising young back who could explode if given the opportunity. Jaylen Warren (vs. Saints) turns into a league-winner if he really does get more opportunities as has been reported, and Elijah Mitchell (vs. Chargers) should return to a complementary role in a highly favorable matchup. Guys like Rachaad White (vs. Seahawks), James Cook (vs. Vikings), and Isaiah Spiller (@ 49ers) are all an injury away from being major factors, too. Don't sleep — the ones who stay alert and constantly target value are the ones who ultimately succeed in fantasy football.
