If you're unfamiliar with pickleball, Sunday might be the perfect opportunity to get acquainted.

Pickleball will be on national television, and some of tennis' all-time greats will take the court to try their hand at the quickly growing sport.

Pickleball has many similarities to tennis, but there are more than a few differences that separate the two.

From the vastly different scoring system to restrictions regarding where a player can stand or where they can hit the ball, pickleball is different enough that it might not be the easiest transition for the players.

Here's everything you need to know to watch Pickleball Slam on Sunday. 

What channel is Pickleball Slam?

  • Live stream: ESPN+, Fubo

Sunday's Pickleball Slam will be broadcast on ESPN. The matches can be live streamed with ESPN+ or with Fubo, which offers a free trial.

The rapidly growing sport of pickleball is getting a national audience thanks to ESPN, and a successful event this year could lead to more nationally broadcast events in the future.

Coverage of Pickleball Slam will begin at noon ET on Sunday from Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla. 

Who is participating in Pickleball Slam?

While tennis players will be happy to tell you pickleball is not the same as tennis, there are some major names from the tennis world participating in Pickleball Slam on Sunday.

John McEnroe, Andy Roddick, Andre Agassi and Michael Chang are the four participants in Pickleball Slam. They'll take part in both singles and doubles matches.

Roddick and Chang will face off in a legends singles match, as will McEnroe and Agassi. Chang and McEnroe will team up for a doubles match against Roddick and Agassi in the final match of the day. 

A pickleball-record $1 million purse is available for the winners, though the exact distribution of the money has not been reported.

Younger pickleball players will compete for a cash prize in the days leading up to Sunday's Pickleball Slam as part of the Amateur Pickleball Slam Challenge.
