In a quest for their first Grand Slam title, Ons Jabeur and Caroline Garcia will battle for a place in the US Open 2022 final.

Tunisian star Jabeur is the first African and Arab woman to reach the semi-finals of the US Open, fresh from being the first African female to make the final at the recent Wimbledon.

French bolter Garcia has been on the tour since 2011 but is playing the best tennis of her career to reach the last four at a major for the first time.

Caroline Garcia vs. Ons Jabeur form and betting trends

After just falling short in the Wimbledon final to Elena Rybakina, Jabeur is primed for another chance at a Grand Slam title - but she is actually underdog against Garcia in the semi.

The Tunisian world No.5, who would be ranked higher if her rankings points from Wimbledon counted, has only dropped one set (vs. Shelby Rogers) in her run to the semi-finals, facing a deceptively tough schedule.

She destroyed in-form Aussie Ajla Tomljanovic in the quarters, while also dismissing French Open quarter-finalist Veronika Kudermetova in the fourth round.

Jabeur's game was marred by inconsistent performances up until recently, where she would produce blistering tennis but then go off the boil in the same match.

Having only dropped one set at Flushing Meadows shows she has improved that part of her game and as the higher-ranked player is good value to back as the underdog.

At the age of 28, Garcia has finally managed to put her game together and be a threat in the second week of Grand Slams.

Prior to 2022, the world No.17 had only reached the quarter-finals of a major once (French Open 2017), but got to the fourth round at Wimbledon and now the last four in New York.

The French big-hitter is yet to drop a set during her current run at the US Open and has thrashed some notable opponents including former champion Bianca Andreescu and American talent Coco Gauff.

In the lead-up to Flushing Meadows, she won the Cincinnati 1000 on hard court defeating the likes of Maria Sakkari, Jessica Pegula, Aryna Sabalenka and Petra Kvitova in the final.

Garcia is in the form of her life but will the occasion of playing for a spot in the final affect her game?

Caroline Garcia vs. Ons Jabeur prediction

This match promises to be an extraordinary tussle between two of the heaviest hitters on the WTA tour.

Both are in incredible form, definitely the best of their careers, and could both be worthy Grand Slam champions if they manage to reach the final.

Jabeur has the experience of playing in a Grand Slam semi-final before and this will count for something in what will be a pressure-filled cauldron at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

There is no doubt that either woman can win this match, but the Tunisian is definitely the value betting pick as she is currently the underdog.

Expect the contest to go three tight sets with Jabeur just managing to come out on top in the big moments.

Prediction: Jabeur in three sets.

What time is Caroline Garcia vs. Ons Jabeur scheduled to start?

The match between Caroline Garcia and Ons Jabeur is the first match during Arthur Ashe Stadium's night session meaning it should start when scheduled.
