The 2024 edition of snooker's Tour Championship began on Monday, April 1, as the world's top 12 ranked players arrived in Manchester to begin seven days of world-class billiards in one of the World Snooker Tour's most unique events.
Relatively new to the circuit when compared to tournaments like the World Snooker Championship and Scottish Open, the Tour Championship is named as such because it takes place in a different UK city every single year. Ronnie O'Sullivan won 2019's inaugural competition in Llandudno, Wales, and the event has moved between Milton Keynes, Newport and Hull in the years since, returning to Llandudno's Venue Cymru in 2022.
Heading to Manchester's Central Convention Complex this time around, the 2024 Tour Championship will see O'Sullivan go up against top seed Judd Trump and 10 other challengers, with none of the other previous winners qualifying for this year's event.
That's another big change from most of the events on the World Snooker Tour which makes this competition truly unique. Rather than the defending champion and winners of other prestigious tournaments being automatically seeded, qualification is based on the one-year rankings list. As a result, neither of 2023 victor Shaun Wilson nor runner-up Kyren Wilson will feature this time around.
The Sporting News has all you need to keep track of the schedule and TV information for the next full week of world-class snooker.

2024 Tour Championship TV channel, live stream
In the UK, ITV will be providing free-to-air coverage of the 2024 Tour Championship, showing matches across both ITV1 and ITV4 throughout the event's seven days. Their streaming site ITVX is also showing every match live and on catch-up, while Eurosport subscribers can also watch the action either via their TV or the Discovery+ streaming service.
Being a UK-based tournament with only two of the 12 players, Zhang Anda and Ding Jinhui, not being from the British Isles, there's no terrestrial TV coverage of this event in most of the world's other major regions. DAZN is the place to go in the USA, however, fans across the globe can still watch the action either live or on catch-up via the World Snooker Tour's in-house streaming channel, WST.TV.
