Season 2024 of rugby league's flagship competition in the Northern Hemisphere comes to an end on Saturday, October 12, as the Wigan Warriors and Hull Kingston Rovers face off in the Grand Final from the iconic Old Trafford stadium in Manchester. The two teams come into this year's decider in wildly different circumstances, with history to be made for both sides.

Not only are Wigan the defending Super League champions, but they're also chasing an unprecedented fourth trophy in 2024 – and if successful on Saturday would become the first side to ever achieve that feat. Matty Peet's side defeated four-peat NRL Premiers Penrith Panthers in the World Club Challenge, before victory over Warrington Wolves in the Challenge Cup Final and collecting the League Leaders' Shield later in the year.

Hull KR, meanwhile, are playing in their first-ever Super League Grand Final, just five years after winning promotion back to the top-flight in 2019. The Robins suffered an agonising 17-16 defeat to Leigh in last year's Challenge Cup final, but with newly-crowned Man of Steel Mikey Lewis at the helm, will be hoping to create history as only the fifth side ever to win Super League.

While it's a Grand Final of firsts for Hull KR and one of familiarity for the Warriors, it will also be the first time the new man-of-the-match award is given out at full-time. Rugby League is unique for having named man of the match trophies, and after retiring the Harry Sunderland Medal, the 2024 Grand Final's best player will be given the Rob Burrow Award, named after the Leeds Rhinos legend and charity fundraiser who passed away from Motor Neurone Disease in June.

As Rugby League fans descend on Old Trafford for arguably the sport's showpiece event in the UK, The Sporting News has all the TV, streaming and kick-off details to help you follow the 2024 Super League Grand Final.

2024 Super League Grand Final prediction

All the signs point towards Wigan, the seasoned winners who have made picking up silverware look easy in recent years, adding a seventh Super League title to their collection, and becoming the first team to win the Challenge Cup, League Leaders' Shield, Super League and World Club Challenge in the same calendar year.

However, Hull KR have shown this season of all seasons that they have what it takes to go the distance, and have already beaten Wigan on home soil in 2024. With the Man of Steel steering coach of the year Willie Peters's side around the park, and multiple Grand Final winners like Ryan Hall, Matt Parcell, Tyrone May and Joe Burgess in the side, could this be the year that a brand new name is finally etched on the Super League trophy?

Prediction: Hull KR to win by less than six points.
