Liverpool boss Arne Slot has won over plenty of hearts with his start to the season, but there’s one question on every fan’s mind: what’s happening with Virgil Van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Mohamed Salah? Sadly, Slot had no juicy details to share and stuck with his usual reply.
Liverpool sit comfortably at the top of the Premier League, having won eight out of their nine games so far. Slot has wasted no time putting his stamp on the squad since taking over from Jurgen Klopp.
However, the futures of Van Dijk, Trent, and Salah — who are all out of contract by the end of the season—remain the dark cloud hovering over Liverpool’s otherwise sunny campaign.

Arne Slot - 'Same boring answer'
When asked if there was any update on the trio’s contract renewals, Slot replied: "Contracts? I was hoping you didn't use that word. It's the same boring answer as always... Try asking after the international break!" While fans might have hoped for better news, Slot didn’t budge, leaving them to wait and wonder.
Despite the uncertainty, Slot remains focused on the present, and so should the fans — especially when it comes to club-record signing Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan striker has struggled to find the back of the net lately, with his latest frustration coming in the mid-week win over Bologna. Slot, however, urged patience.

"I think it's a challenge we as a staff have to find different ways to position Darwin to Diogo [Jota] as they are different players," Slot commented. “He didn’t score because he was offside, but we couldn’t get him in the positions that we want to be.”
With Liverpool firing on all cylinders, the fans may need to trust Slot to figure things out — and hope that the boring answers soon turn into exciting new contracts for their star players.
